My Pink Stamper Halloween Challenge

It's time for a challenge with the My Pink Stamper Design Team! Robyn asked us to create something with her Spooky Puns stamp set (check here for retailers that sell this adorable set). Even if you don't have her stamps yet, you can join in the fun on mypinkstamper.com by creating a Halloween themed project with your Cricut. Be sure to check out the awesome projects by the rest of the design team when you are there!

I had so much fun creating this haunted house for my classroom! I brought it into school yesterday, and my 2nd and 3rd graders loved it. Of course, they think they should all get to make one as well. :-) I used Happy Hauntings and cut the house at 11", which created a 20" haunted house! The black paper for the house came from 12" x 24" Provo Craft cardstock, and the windows were created with Papertrey Ink vellum. The rest of the papers are from Core'dinations or are Papertrey Ink cardstock. All of the sentiments (Eeeek!, Happy Halloween!, Boo!, and Trick or Treat) are from the My Pink Stamper Spooky Puns stamp set, stamped with Papertrey Ink True Black ink.

My Pink Stamper Imagine Challenge

Robyn, "My Pink Stamper", is having a challenge today to create something with the Cricut Imagine and add some bling. I made this card using a layered image from the Imagine More cartridge, cut at 2.5". I didn't feel that the colors called for a lot of bling, but I did use some Black Diamond Stickles for the birds' eyes. The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink, and I curved it as I stuck it to the acrylic block. I hadn't tried that before, and I really like how it turned out!

Recipe:

Papertrey September Blog Hop Challenge

I'm entering my first Papertrey Ink blog hop challenge! I just love this wreath from the "Wreath for All Seasons" stamp set, and it inspired me to make a door card for my brother and his family, who just bought a new house. This card fits in a regular business sized envelope.

The challenge is to use a tip you learned from another crafter. I used a technique I picked up from Nichole Heady's blog for my wreath. I stamped it once in Terracotta ink, and then rotated the stamp 45 degrees and stamped again, giving it a faded look for the second stamping.

Recipe:
(all materials Papertrey Ink)

9 1/4" x 8" Kraft cardstock, scored at 4"
9" x 3 3/4" Terracotta Tile cardstock
8 3/4" x 3 1/2" Fine Linen cardstock, scored with my Scor-Pal to look like a door

Robyn, over at My Pink Stamper, is having a challenge to celebrate 5 million hits on her blog! Today's challenge was to create something with a bird on it. Best Friends Cricut Imagine Card

I decided to try using one of the people from the Best Friends Imagine cartridge to make a birthday card. She is cut at 4", and I mixed and matched her clothes and accessories. The patterned paper is also from Best Friends, along with the scalloped rectangle. I cut that at 5" and embossed the sentiment on it.

Recipe:
(all materials Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise specified)

September My Pink Stamper Design Team Project

It's My Pink Stamper Design Team Day! Today's theme is "Anything Goes", and we are showcasing My Pink Stamper's stamps. This little scene was lots of fun to create! I used my Gypsy, which was a big help when searching for the various cuts. It also helped to create a rectangle the size of my card base and then add a new layer for all of the cuts. This way I could see just how they would look on the final card, which made it easy to size everything.

Recipe:

7 3/4" x 11" PTI Kraft cardstock, scored at 5 1/2"
7 1/2" x 5 1/4" PTI Enchanted Evening cardstock layer
7 1/4" x 5" sei Christmas Mint patterned paper

The Imagine is Here!

My Imagine finally arrived at 7 PM this evening! It was really easy to set up. In one hour I got it calibrated, made a few test cuts from the Nursery Tails cartridge, and turned them into this little card. I don't have my white paper yet (my Bazzill paper from HSN is supposed to arrive tomorrow), so I used the back of a DCWV patterned cardstock that I didn't like to do the print test. It only used part of the paper, so I used it again to print and cut the snail. I chose the layer option and used pop dots to pop up his shell. For the green patterned paper, I used a 4" x 4" scrap of textured white Provocraft cardstock (a scrap from my 12"x 24" pack). I just put it on the top left corner of the mat, where I could see from the screen it would cut. I didn't change the paper size on the screen, but it worked fine. I'm guessing that would only be important if you were using "Fit to Page" or "Autofill". Anyway, all in all, it was very easy to use, and I'm looking forward to having some more time to play tomorrow evening. Now I have to clean up this packaging mess, since my housecleaners are coming tomorrow!

Recipe:

6" x 3" PTI Melon Berry cardstock, scored at 3"
2.8" Rounded Square (built in shape on the Imagine) filled with Nursery Tails pattern
3" Snail (not cut on real size)
PTI Melon Berry Ribbon
PTI Mega Mixed Messages Sentiment
PTI Dark Chocolate & Chai Ink

New PTI Wreath Stamp

While waiting impatiently for my Imagine to get delivered, I made this little card using my new Papertrey Ink stamps that just arrived on Saturday. Don't you just love this wreath? I stamped the berries twice, rotating the stamp slightly and not reinking in between to get two shades of berries. The cut that it is stamped upon is from page 35 of the Just Because Cards cartridge.

Recipe:
(all materials Papertrey Ink)

8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Kraft cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"
4" x 5 1/4" Vintage Cream cardstock
3 3/4" x 5" 2009 Bitty Dot Basics patterned paper

Best Witches to You!

I had this idea for a Halloween card on my way to work today and couldn't wait to get home to make it! The bird witch is from 3 Birds on Parade, cut at 2 1/2". I used my Gypsy to cut out the Everyday Paper Dolls cityscape at 2.3", first "hiding" all of the windows. The moon is cut at 1 1/4" from Camp Out.

I stamped the polka dots onto the orange paper with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.

Recipe:

8 1/2" x 5 1/2" Papertrey Ink Kraft cardstock, scored at 4 1/4"
4" x 5 1/4" PTI Plum Pudding cardstock

Scaredy Cat Card

I was a little worried about how well the frames from Happy Hauntings would cut out, but this one did great! I used a light green Black Magic Core'dinations paper, cutting the frame on the green side and the background on the black side, at 5 inches. I then ran the background through my Spiderweb Cuttlebug folder and sanded it to make the green web come through. The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper's Spooky Puns stamp set, and I embossed it with black embossing powder.

Recipe:

True Black Papertrey Ink Cardstock, cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4"
