Birdies Birthday Card

One of my friends has beautiful 2 and 4-year old girls and a newborn baby boy. I decided to make a card for her that doesn't just recognize her birthday, but also celebrates her busy mommy role. My card is 5" x 7", so the brown layer is cut at 4 3/4" x 6 3/4", and the green patterned paper is cut at 4 1/2" x 6 1/2".

These two little birds are from Straight From the Nest, cut at 1 1/2" and 2".

Mama and baby bird are from 3 Birds on Parade. Mama is cut at 3 1/2", and baby is cut at 1 1/2". Isn't baby bird the cutest, with his binky and blankie?

To create my message, I used sentiments from three different My Creative Time stamp sets! "To the Best" is from My Teacher Rocks, "Mommy" is from Mom You ROCK, and the birthday saying is from Wow! So Many Candles. Click here for ordering information on all of the My Creative Time stamps.

Throwback Thursday Challenge with My Creative Time!

It's Throwback Thursday! For today's challenge over at My Creative Time, Emma is asking us to use any older cartridge of our choice to make a Christmas themed project using some kind of material (lace, fabric, felt, etc.). I used Joys of the Season to make my cute snowman card. This is an A7 sized card (5" x 7 ").

My snowman is cut at 5", and he's holding the cutest sentiment from My Creative Time's All Around Christmas stamp set. I die cut the scalloped circle using the My Creative Time Scalloped Circle die with some red felt.  Here's a look at the entire All Around Christmas stamp set.  I just love all of the sentiments and the ADORABLE images!  Click here for ordering information.

Here's a fun birthday card that plays off the vibrant colors in the Cricut Imagine All Wrapped Up cartridge. It is a 4 1/4" square card, and the All Wrapped Up pattern is cut at 3 3/4". My groovy boots are cut at 2 3/4" from Groovy Times.

I love this sentiment from My Creative Time's Wow! So Many Candles stamp set. The label that it's stamped on was die cut from the My Creative Time Curly Label die. The inside of the card is stamped with another one of Emma's stamps.

Tri-Fold Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a card I made with my Gypsy and Cricut Expression in the style of the cards on the "Just a Note" Cricut cartridge that is included in the E2. To make this without an E2, I welded together some rectangles and shapes that I wanted to include. "Happy Birthday" is from the Cricut Classic Font cartridge. I welded the shadow to my card base and cut it again as a shadow and a regular cut.

My cupcake is from Birthday Bash. Again, I welded it to the card base and then also cut it with all of its layers. Before adhering it down, I added the striped rectangle.

Finally, the center rounded part of my card is actually a liner from a Wild Card envelope. I adjusted the width and height to make it just the right size. I added the star paper, along with some plain cardstock for my message.

My Creative Time July Sneak Peek #3

Today Emma and the My Creative Time design team is giving you a sneak peek of Emma's new stamp set: All Around Halloween. This set is SUPER cute, and there are so many things that you can do with it! For my card, I cut a ghost from the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge at 2 3/4" and a bird dressed up as a ghost from 3 Birds on Parade at 2".

For my sentiment, I first used the My Creative Time Curly Label die to die cut some orange cardstock. I stamped it with the coordinating frame from the Inspiring Words {Accents} stamp set and then added the sentiment from All Around Halloween.

My Creative Time Sneak July Peek #2

Sneak Peek #1 went up a little late yesterday, so if you haven't seen it, please click here.

Are you ready for sneak #2? Emma at My Creative Time has created the cutest stamp set called Happy Mail. Not only that, there is an adorable die that goes with it! For my A2 sized card, I used a cute 3 1/4" cut from Kate's ABCs. The wagon originally had two potted plants in it, but I trimmed one off to make room for the envelope.

You'll notice that my envelope has embossing on it.  How cool is that?  You can emboss and cut at the same time!  Both the sentiment and the pencil are from Happy Mail.

My Creative Time July Sneek Peek #1

Emma, at My Creative Time, is releasing four brand new stamp sets this Friday! For today's sneak peek, I made this A2 sized card for my dad's upcoming birthday. The table is cut from the French Manor Cricut cartridge at 2 1/2". The wine glass, also from French Manor, is cut at 1 1/4". It didn't come with any layers, so I cut it twice to make my own. I did the same thing with the wine bottle, which is cut at 1 3/4" from the Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Cart cartridge. On the label, I added a little Papertrey Ink sentiment.

Now, for the sneak peek! This sentiment is from the new My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set, which is being released this Friday! You're definitely going to want this one; it's so useful for those everyday cards.

the inside of my card, I stamped a sentiment from My Creative Time's Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.

California Pennant

The Cricut Circle is holding a challenge in which we were asked to make a pennant to represent our states, provinces, or countries. I had a great time creating my California pennant! I used Birthday Bash for the pennant shape itself.

The sun is from the Creative Memories Cheerful Seasons cartridge. Both the title and the Golden Gate Bridge are from the Destinations cartridge.

The redwood trees are from Gypsy Wanderings, and the black bear is from Camp Out.

Lastly, the beach scene is from Pack Your Bags.

I just love this hot air balloon from the Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge, especially paired with a cloud background paper printed from the Best Friends Imagine cartridge.

Glass Beach Layout

Here's another layout of our trip to Menodino, CA in 1999. Eric and his cousins had a blast skipping rocks and jumping off driftwood at this beach! For my Cricut cuts on here, I cut the circle at 6" and the stitched circle at 7 1/2" (real dial size) from Mini Monograms.

The anchor is cut at 4 1/4" from Life Is A Beach.

My favorite part of this layout is the title. I cut it at 1 1/2" from Boys Will Be Boys and covered each letter with Glossy Accents, which I think gave it a fun "glassy" look.

Aging to Perfection!

I love this sentiment from My Creative Time's Wow! So Many Candles stamp set, and paired with an old-fashioned car and vintage papers, it's great for a birthday card! To create my background paper, I printed a pattern from the Cricut Imagine Vintage Papers cartridge on kraft cardstock. This is an A7 sized card, 5" x 7".

The car is cut at 3" from the Wrap It Up Cricut cartridge.

To continue my aged, vintage theme, I stamped my sentiment on patterned paper cut with the My Creative Time Curly Label die. I added the stamped frame from the My Creative Time Inspiring Words {Accents} stamp set. A little Vintage Photo ink added to the aged look. Click here to get all of the My Creative Time products!

Fun with Felt

I've always wanted to try cutting felt with my Cricut, and it turns out it's really easy! I made my card base with Elegant Edges, by welding two 5.44" oblong shapes together on my Gypsy. I added a couple of layers in decreasing sizes and ran the brown layer through the Cuttlebug.

To make my ice-cream cone, I ironed some "Heat 'n Bond" to my felt and then cut the cone from Sweet Shop at 3.5" using the deep cut blade in my Cricut. I was surprised with how easily it cut! I then handstitched around the edges and adhered it together and to the the card with a glue gun.

My little tag was made with a Papertrey Ink die and stamps, and I attached it to the card with some twine.

Elegant Edges Birthday Card

After many weeks of hitting various Michael's, I finally found the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge! To make my card base, I took two of the "book" cuts (at 4.25"), flipped one, and welded them together with my Gypsy. I cut the layer at the same size, but trimmed about 3/8" off of it, so that my light green card base would show on the edges. The yummy cake is from Sweet Shop Cricut cartridge, cut at 3".

Throwback Thursday Challenge with My Creative Time!

For this week's My Creative Time Throwback Thursday Challenge, Emma asked us to create something using the Just Because Cards or Wild Card Cricut cartridges AND to include some embossing. I used Just Because Cards for mine. I began with a brown 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card base, but I trimmed 1/4" off of the front flap of the card and adhered a 5 1/2" green scallop behind it, to add a little interest. The cloud patterned paper is cut at 3 1/2" x 5 1/2".

This pick-up truck is one of my favorite cuts from Just Because Cards. I cut it at 5 1/2" and the embossed flowers at 8".

The cloud cut is from Create a Critter. I cut it at 2", making it just the perfect size for my stamp from the My Creative Time Turn That Frown Upside Down stamp set. This is a Throwback Thursday Challenge that you will want to enter by July 20th! Emma will be randomly selecting a winner who will receive all four of her new stamps sets that will be released on July 22nd! If you don't own Just Because Cards or Wild Card, don't worry. You can use any older cartridge!
