Happy Halloween!

I hope you all have a fun day!  Since Eric is 16 and not trick-or-treating anymore,  I wanted to make him some Halloween goodies.  I decided to make this door hanger box from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.  I cut it at 11 1/4", using some double-sided paper.

To decorate it, I just wrapped it with some ribbon and made a little tag with the My Creative Time Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies and All Around Halloween stamp set.  Easy peasy!

Here's how it looks with some candy in it.  I kept the ghost how it was, but I wrapped a chocolate bar with some paper from the same stack.

Halloween Treat Bag Toppers

I just thought I'd share what I've been working on for the last couple of days.  My brother and sister-in-law host a pumpkin carving party every year, and I offered to make toppers for the treat bags.  Here are a couple of them.  They're still in progress, since I'm waiting for my Peachy Keen Uglies stamps to arrive to stamp on my monsters.  Hopefully they will arrive today.

The papers I used are from the K&Company Spooktacular paper pack.  I'm loving this paper!  I was at Michael's last night, and it was on clearance for $5.99, so get over there if you're interested.  My base is cut at 4 1/2" x 4", scored at 2".  I then added the My Creative Time XL Label Die, which I'd stamped with a border from XL Label Borders and a sentiment from Mixed Holiday Sentiments.  The witch's hat and crow are both cut at 3 1/4" from the Cricut Mini Monsters cartridge.

Hope Card

I made this card for one of my Circle sisters who was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.  I'm hoping this will send a little encouragement to her!  This is an A2 size card with the brown layer cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The pink layer is 4" x 5 1/4".  I printed a 5" x 7" rectangle of the pattern with my Imagine, using the All Wrapped Up cartridge.

To make my ribbon, I used my Gypsy to weld a 3.2" ribbon from the Cricut Designer's Calendar cartridge to a 5" x 3 3/4" rectangle.  I cut this from the patterned rectangle and adhered it to my card base.  I then heat embossed "Hope" from the My Creative Time Race For a Cure stamp set.

The flower is made up of three 3.35" flowers cut from Flower Shoppe and topped with a button and some twine.

Oh my goodness, this card is so cute. Love the shocked flower. And who would've thought you could find grass on Plantin Schoolbook? I always learn something new from you, Katie.

Congrats, Lady Fair!  You won the All Around Birthday Time stamp set shown below.  I will be contacting you to get your shipping address.

Quick Halloween Thank You

I love using the My Creative Time Small Talk stamp set for making quick and easy notecards.  One of my students gave me some adorable Halloween decorations, so I made this card and envelope for my thank-you note.  The card is 3 1/4" square, with the orange patterned paper cut at a 3" square.  Both the dotted border and the "Boo!" are from Small Talk.  I cut the envelope at 3 1/4" from the Cricut Walk in my Garden cartridge.

I cut two different ghosts at 2 1/4" real dial size, since I didn't know which one I would like better on the card.  I ended up using the one from Smiley Cards for the card and the one from Paper Doll Dress Up on the envelope (I didn't want to waste it).

My Creative Time October Stamp Release Blog Hop!

The day you've been waiting for is finally here!  Today you get to see all four of My Creative Time's fantastic new stamp sets!  If you haven't been to Emma's site yet, head over there now to see her video introducing each of the sites.

I had so much fun using All Around Birthday Time for my project today.  I made this card for my aunt, who just turned 70 last weekend.  It's a little late, but hopefully the cuteness will make up for it!  She has a great sense of humor, so I think she'll get a kick out of the shocked looking flower.

I made my three flowers using the My Creative Time Scallop & Stitched Circle Dies.  For the center sentiment, I stamped "Look Who's 70" from All Around Birthday Time and popped up the flower with some pop dots.  I just love how All Around Birthday Time has individual numbers so that I can personalize cards for specific birthdays.  My other two flowers are stamped with Peachy Keen faces.  I cut the flower stems at 2" and 2 1/2" from the Walk in My Garden Cricut cartridge.

To create my grass, I cut it twice at 1 1/4" from Plantin Schoolbook.  The first layer is adhered directly to the card, but I used pop dots for the second layer to add some dimension.

For the inside of my card, I stamped my favorite "Happy Birthday" (I just love this font) from Emma's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.

My Creative Time October Stamp Release Sneak Peek #4

Are you excited?  Today is our last day of sneak peek's before tomorrow's BIG reveal of the October My Creative Time Stamp Release!  For my project, I made a card that is perfect for sending to a friend who is long overdue a letter from me.  My favorite part of this card is the background paper.  I created this by first using the My Creative Time Stitched {only} Circle Die, running it through my Cuttlebug multiple times to create circles all over my paper.  I then stamped the adorable clock face and hands from the new All Around Birthday Time stamp set, which is being released tomorrow.  A fun feature is that the hands are separate stamps from the clock, which allowed me to create any time I wanted!

This cute grandfather clock is from the French Manor Cricut cartridge, cut at 4 1/2".  I ran the dark brown layer through my Cuttlebug with my PTI Woodgrain Impression Plate.

The sentiment is from another set being released tomorrow, Cherish This Moment.

My Creative Time October Stamp Release Sneak Peek #3

It's Day 3 of the My Creative Time October Stamp Release Sneak Peeks, and we've got a fantastic one to share today!!!  If you have Emma's XL Label Die, you need this set.  And if you don't have the XL Label Die, you need it too!  Emma originally made this die to use with her Whimsical Calendar Days stamp set, which includes a beautiful whimsical stamped border.  To get you more use out of your die, she's created a new stamp set, XL Label Borders.  This set has fun new borders, including the snowflake one that I used on my tag!

To make my tag, I first die cut light blue cardstock with the XL Label Die.  I then stamped the snowflakes from XL Label Borders with Versamark ink and heat embossed them with white embossing powder.  I also used my Crop-a-Dile to add an extra large eyelet.  I knew I wanted to pop up my snowman (created with the All Around Accessories stamp set that we sneaked yesterday), but I had a feeling that cutting out those twig arms would be tricky.  So, I inked up just the arms of the snowman, stamped them on my tag, and colored them with a Copic marker.

I then stamped the snowman again on white cardstock and colored him with Copics before cutting him out (minus the arms).  After popping him up on the tag, I gave his eyes some shine with Glossy Accents.

Here's a peek at the back of my tag.  The cute "to" and "from" are also included in the XL Label Borders set!  Be sure to stamp these before adding the popped-up snowman!

My Creative Time October Stamp Release Sneak Peek #2

I'm back with another sneak peek of the My Creative Time October Stamp Release!  If you love coloring, you will LOVE today's stamp set!  My cute box is cut from the Cricut Wrap It Up cartridge at 9 1/4".

I stamped this adorable birthday truffle from the My Creative Time All Around Accessories stamp set (being released this Friday) on a scalloped square cut from Mini Monograms at 2 1/2" real dial size and colored it with Copic markers.  The paper I used was white and didn't coordinate well with my star paper, so I distressed it with some PTI Chamomile ink after coloring my truffle.  I also added some Gloss Gel dots to give it some more interest.  This exact image is on the back of the box as well.

After tying up my box with some pretty satin ribbon from PTI, I added a tag made with the My Creative Time Curly Label Die, Inspiring Words {Accents} stamp set, and the Wow!  So Many Candles stamp set.  These three items are already available for purchase at the My Creative Time store.

I actually bought a truffle to put inside the box, nestled in some tissue paper.  Sadly, I don't know anybody having a birthday this week, so I had to eat it myself.  I wouldn't want it going bad!

My Creative Time October Stamp Release Sneak Peek #1

It's that time again - My Creative Time Sneak Peek Week!  Emma has created some ADORABLE stamps for all of us!  You will love them!  For my project today, I created a layout of Eric when we went to the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, DC, back when he was eight.  He loved the hands-on children's room!

My sneaks today come from the My Creative Time Cherish This Moment stamp set, which is being released on Friday.  One of the stamps that I LOVE on here is the simple journaling lines that fit just perfectly with Emma's already release XL Label Die!  Isn't it perfect?

Cherish This Moment also has lots of fun sayings that work perfectly on layouts or cards.  I chose "A day to remember..." for this layout.  I stamped it onto a stamp shape from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge, cut at 5".  The little globe is cut at 3/4" from Graphically Speaking, and the bird is cut at 3" from 3 Birds on Parade.  I had fun making the bird's map, using map patterned paper from the PTI Road Trip collection.

For my title, I cut a 3" frame from Art Philosophy and ran the kraft layer through my Cuttlebug with the Polka Dots Cuttlebug folder.  I love how the letters turned out.  I saw this idea of running letters through a paper crimper on somebody's blog a couple of months ago, but I can't remember where!  Sorry!  My letters are cut at 1 1/4" from Nate's ABCs.

Sweet Tooth Boxes "To Go Box"

A coworker who loves chocolate was celebrating a birthday this week, so I whipped up this box and filled it with Dove Promises.  Yum!

The box is the "To Go Box" from the Cricut Sweet Tooth Boxes cartridge.  It's box #6, and I cut it at "Fit to Page."

I used a die from the My Creative Time Build a Banner Kit for my tag and stamped it with a sentiment from the My Creative Time Wow! So Many Candles stamp set.

Throwback Thursday with My Creative Time!

It's another Throwback Thursday Thursday Challenge with My Creative Time!  This week we are pulling out our older Cricut cartridges that have a card feature on them and making Halloween cards.  There are MANY cartridges that have this feature, and they are great for making a quick card!  I made this cute spider card using the card feature on Stretch Your Imagination.  To make this fit into an A2 size envelope, I cut my card at 4 1/4" on black cardstock.  To make the orange layer, I cut it at the same size again and then trimmed it down to a 4" square and cut out the spider, leaving a rectangular opening.  I also adhered the green paper to the inside of the card and then used a 4" square of black paper to cover up that and the brads on the inside.

To dress up my spider, I put some Glossy Accents on his boots and top hat and gave him some google eyes.  For my sentiment, I stamped the crossword squares from the My Creative Time Anyday Bingo & Crossword stamp set with black ink.  I then stamped the letters with Versamark Ink and heat embossed them with black embossing powder.  It's hard to get a good picture of all of the glossy parts to this card, but they look great in person!

I used another My Creative Time stamp set for the inside sentiment:  All Around Halloween.  I stamped it onto a 4"square of patterned paper that I had adhered to the inside of my card.

Now, you are definitely going to want to play along with this challenge!  The winner will receive the entire 11th edition of My Creative Time stamps, that will be released next Friday, October 21st!  And they are AWESOME!!!  Head on over to My Creative Time to join in the fun!  Here's a peek at the two stamp sets I used today:

Baby Tags for the NICU

One of my friends recently delivered her twins seven weeks early, so they will be in the NICU for a little while.  My own son was 13 weeks early, and the nurses encouraged us to bring in items from home to decorate his isolette.  It was comforting to somewhat break up the sterile environment of the NICU, so I thought my friend would enjoy putting these on her babies' isolettes.

My tags are cut at 6" from the Sweet Treats Cricut cartridge.  I cut them once in a heavy kraft cardstock and again in patterned paper, to make them nice and sturdy.

For Hayden's tag, I cut the onesie from Baby Steps at 4".  His name is stamped with letters from the My Creative Time Anyday Bingo & Crossword stamp set.

Claire's onesie, also from Baby Steps, is cut at 3", and I ran it through the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.   I stamped her name with the same stamp set and heat embossed it to make it really stand out on the raspberry cardstock.

Masculine Gift Bag

Here's a masculine gift bag that I made for my dad's birthday present.  I bought the big kraft gift bag at Michael's for $1 (with my coupon).

To decorate it, I made a banner using My Creative Time's Build a Banner Kit.  I love playing with this kit.  It's so fun and easy.  It comes with 4 dies:  the little stitched circle, the "sun" shape, and 2 different pennant shapes.  I die cut the "sun" shapes using blue and green cardstock.  I used cream cardstock for the stitched circles and the pennants.  The pennants are stamped with the burlap stamp included in the kit.  The letters on the stitched circles are from another My Creative Time stamp set, Anyday Bingo & Crossword.  The letters are a perfect fit for the banners!

After my banner pieces were assembled, I punched holes in their corners and strung them with some twine.  To attach them to the gift bag, I just wrapped them around some brads.  This way, the banner can be taken off of the gift bag and used again for another purpose (decoration, for a scrapbook page, etc.).

The party hat tag was cut at 3 1/2" from the Cricut American Alphabet cartridge, which is one of the built in cartridges on the E2.  I gave it some white stitching and then punched a hole at the top for some twine.  I totally forgot to use my Crop-a-dile, and ended up mauling my tag with a regular hole punch.  Luckily, dads don't notice these things.

Thanks a Bunch!

Here's a little thank you card I made using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge and some coordinating stamps.  The cream base of my card is cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The brown layer is cut at 4" x 5 1/2", and the patterned layer is 3 3/4" x 5 1/2".  To get my border just the right length, I used the "Fit to Length" button, and cut it at 5 1/2".

My flower stamps are from the Close to My Heart Hooray Bouquet stamp set.  This is not one of the stamp sets included in the Art Philosophy bundle.  There are some separate sets that also coordinate, and I could not resist this one.  I cut the flowers at 2" and 2 3/4" and stamped them with brown and red ink.

For my sentiment, I die cut my oval using the My Creative Time Stitched Oval Die and stamped "Thanks a Bunch" from the My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set.
