MCT December Stamp Release Blog Hop!

Today is the day that you can finally see the full December My Creative Time release!  If you just stumbled upon here, you are going to want to start at the beginning, at Emma's blog, where she has a video showcasing the ENTIRE release!

For my card today I used the new Stitched Scallop Heart Die Set.  Aren't these hearts gorgeous?  I kept this card pretty simple so that the intricate cut of the die would really pop!  I cut the hearts out twice in kraft cardstock and once in cream.  After cutting one of the kraft sets right down the middle, I arranged the hearts in a row on a kraft card base.  The cream hearts are glued on top of kraft ones, to give them a little more dimension.

Before adhering the small heart down, I stamped it with a sentiment from the new Lots of Love stamp set.  I just adore the elegant fonts on this one!  I also added a teeny tiny heart from the new Stitched Heart Layering Dies to give my card a pop of red.  It's so easy to make an elegant card with these new products!

Here's a peek at the stamp set and the two die sets that I used for this card.  They are for purchase NOW, and don't forget that there is a sale going on!  You can use the code NEWYEAR at checkout in the My Creative Time Store  to get 20% off your entire purchase!  Yes, that is even including ALL of the stamps that are 40% off right now here!  This sale will end on Sunday, January 6th @ midnight PST!

And, for more fun, Emma designed this special stamp as a "THANK YOU" for all of your support throughout 2012!  With all of her ups and downs this year, you were ALL there to support her in any way possible!  Emma will FOREVER be grateful to each and every one of you!  With that said, she is offering this mini stamp set for FREE to the first 150 shoppers starting at 8 AM PST today.  NO SPECIAL CODE is needed.  If you are among the first 150 shoppers, you will automatically have it included with your order.  ONE per shopper, please.  If you miss out on being one of the lucky shoppers who gets this for free, no worries because Emma will be offering it for sale for those of you who "have to have it!"

MCT December Sneak Peek #3

It's our last day of My Creative Time sneak peeks, and Emma's got a few more awesome products to share today!  Like I've said, these releases don't just have to be for Valentine's Day projects.  I used some of the new products to make a thank you card today!

I started with a postage stamp card cut from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge, cut at 4 1/4".  After layering on a 3 5/8" brown square and a 3 3/8" kraft square, I stamped a sweet sentiment from MCT's Thank You Hugs stamp set.  If you don't have this set, add it to your shopping cart.  When I just went to link it to my post, I noticed it only costs $3.99!

Onto the new products!  Today we're sneaking the new Stitched Postage Frame Die.  Isn't this the cutest???  I die cut this four times:  once to get the patterned paper rectangle, and three times out of Papertrey Ink Canyon Clay cardstock.  Layering the frames gave it a cool chipboard element look!  Next I used the die from Chocolate Greetings (also being released tomorrow) and cut it once out of brown cardstock and once out of foil.  By folding down a little bit of the foil before adhering them together, I've got a little "chocolate" peeking through!  The sentiment and the banner it is stamped upon are also from Chocolate Greetings.  So fun!

MCT December Sneak Peek #2

Welcome to Day 2 of the My Creative Time December Sneak Peeks!  Today I'm sharing the sweetest little stamp and die set for you:  Chocolate Greetings!  This set is so fun for all occasions!  Since I was using the "It's a Girl" sentiment, I thought it would be fun to make a baby carriage treat holder.  I found a cute little template by Niki Estes that you can print out and trace, but I pulled it into Silhouette Studio and made it a cut file.  I did a little machine stitching, added some brown "lace" made with my Fiskar's Treading Water Punch, and some iRock gems on the wheels.

Isn't this chocolate greeting diecut adorable?  I cut it once in brown cardstock and another time in aluminum foil, which I had crumpled and then flattened.  Before adhering them together, I cut a small slit in the foil to slip in my sentiment banner.  That banner was made with a die that comes with the chocolate greeting die.  Perfect little tag to tie onto a bag of chocolate kisses!

MCT December Sneak Peek #1

It's Day 1 of My Creative Time Sneak Peeks, and you're going to "LOVE" this release!  There are lots of fun new stamps and dies that are great for Valentine's Day, as well as many other occasions!  For my project today I made a sweet little 3" card and envelope.

To make my card, I cut a 2 7/8" square of kraft cardstock and stamped the sweet "XOXOXOXO" from the new My Creative Time Lots of Love stamp set.  Then I added some machine stitching around the edges.  Those cute little hearts were cut from felt using the new Stitched Heart Layering Dies.  I just love these!  Isn't that teeny one so adorable?  I hand stitched an "X" on each one before hot gluing them to my card base.

Every 3" card needs an envelope, and they are so easy to make with the MCT 3x3 Fancy Envelope Die.  I die cut my envelope using regular white printer paper, and then stamped it with the new Love Collage background stamp.  So sweet!

50th Birthday Card

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  I've got lots of crafting to do over my two weeks of winter break:  birthday cards, thank you notes, AND my projects for the My Creative Time Sneak Peeks, which begin on Friday!  Good thing I have some free time!

Today I'm sharing the birthday card that I made for my brother-in-law, who will turn 50 on New Year's Day!  The Dark Chocolate card base is a 4 1/4" square, and I used my ekSuccess Bumpy Roads Edger Punch with some Aqua Mist patterned paper for the border.  The sentiments all come from Papertrey Ink's Big Birthday Wishes stamps set, and I cut the letters using the Cricut Nursery Rhymes cartridge, once in brown for a shadow, and once in patterned paper from Echo Park's Splash collection.
