Book Fair Thank You Card

We had our school book fair last week, and some of my students bought books for my classroom library.  I used the My Creative Time Small Talk stamp set to make a cute border and "Thanks" sentiment on my 3" square cards.  The books and apple stamps and dies are from Papertrey Ink's Back to School set.

MCT's Fancy Envelope is perfect when making 3" cards.  Since I used patterned paper (The Paper Studio's Little Boys and their Toys), I added a label cut with MCT's Chunky Jar Accessories for writing the child's name.

Project Life Card Box

It's 3-D Wednesday with My Creative Time, and I have a really fun and useful project today!  I made Lori Whitlock's 3D Vertical Journaling Card Storage Box from the Silhouette Online Store to hold my Project Life cards!

I used Papertrey Ink kraft cardstock to make my box extra sturdy and then lined it inside and out with Echo Park's This & That Graceful paper.  One thing I love about Lori Whitlock's designs is that she usually has assembly videos on her YouTube channel.  You can see the one for this box here.

I had fun using lots of My Creative Time goodies to decorate the outside!  On the front, I placed some cute peeps made with the Stitched Restroom Peeps Dies.  The girl has part of a sentiment from Just Simply Live stamped in a Stitched Round Speech Bubble, and the boy has a Things I Love sentiment, stamped in a Stitched Square Speech Bubble.

On this side, I pulled out an old favorite, Anyday Bingo & Crossword, and made a bingo card with a fun little smiley face from Things I Love stamped in the center.  See that cute camera?  My sweet friend Kim made that for me out of wash tape and the Stitched Camera Die.

I used the Stitched Fun Tickets and Stitched Heart Layering Dies on this side, along with another sentiment from Things I Love.  The cute circle emblems were just circle punched from the Graceful paper.

I'm very excited to have a cute box to hold my Project Life cards and inspire me to get caught up on my pages!  Be sure to click on the link below to see what Emma and the rest of the design team have for you today!

Scratch & Sniff Card

I was very intrigued with the "scratch & sniff" embossing I saw as part of Papertrey Ink's Stamp-a-Faire in August, so I thought I'd give it a try over the weekend.  It 's really fun!  For my card base I used some layers of PTI cardstock, with some strips of patterned paper from Simple Stories Harvest Lane collection.  The floral pattern is edged with ekSuccess's Bumpy Roads Edger Punch.

PTI came out with a fun stamp set and dies, Scent-imentals, to use with scented embossing.  That's where I got my "Autumn is in the air" sentiment.

The pumpkin is also from Scent-imentals.  To do the scented embossing, I first die cut the pumpkin, and then stamped the stem and leaves with ripe avocado and the pumpkin with canyon clay ink.  To make the pumpkin scented, I mixed one part pumpkin pie spice with two parts clear embossing powder and then just embossed as usual.  PTI recommends trying things like sugar free Jello, coffee grounds, and spices for the scented embossing.  You just don't want to use anything with sugar, or your heat gun will scorch it.  I love the little "Scratch Sniff" arrow stamp that is included in the set; there are actually a bunch of them to choose from!

To add to my autumn theme, I made a cute coffee cup using My Creative Time's Coffee Break Stamp & Die Set and added a cute little button made with MCT's Stitched Button Dies to the cozy.
