My Creative Time February Blog Hop

Welcome to our February My Creative Time Blog Hop!  If you just happened to arrive here, you might want to start back at Emma's blog, so that you don't miss anything!  She and the design team have so many fabulous projects to share with you!

For my project today, I used the new Tag Gift Pocket Die to create gift card holders for all of the classroom champions who are participating in our school spelling bee!  I've been doing this for the last three years, and I'm thrilled to have a new type of gift card holder!  To make the tag base, I used one of the Tag Dies, along with the round tab from Stitched Round Tab, Arrow & Tag Dies.  Some May Arts Chevron Twill and a bit of hemp dressed it up.

I just love the little Tag Gift Pocket!  Before assembling it, I stamped it with one of the Spring Chicken Backgrounds.  I had printed what I wanted my tickets to stay on cardstock, so then I just stamped around them with an image from Holiday Tickets, along with a couple of stars from It's a Magical Season.  Then I die cut them with the Stitched Fun Ticket Dies.  The cute little bee is an Echo Park cut that I found in the Silhouette Online Store.

Here's a look at all of the different colors and patterns I used.  I had to make 15 altogether.

And here it is with a gift card inside.  We give each of the classroom champs a gift card to a local bookstore.

Here is a closer look at the new die that I used on today's project.  It is now available in the My Creative Time Store!

MCT February Sneak Peek #2

It's Day 2 of the My Creative Time February Sneak Peeks!  Today we are showcasing a great new stamp and die set for St. Patrick's Day called I'm a Lucky Girl!  Being Irish, my family always celebrates St. Patrick's Day in my house with a traditional corned beef dinner.  I thought it would be really fun to use the dies in this new set to make napkin rings!

To make the band part of my ring, I actually used the wavy Fun Stitched Edges die.  It made a cute asymmetrical ring.  There are four parts to this adorable hat die from I'm a Lucky Girl:  the hat, band, clover, and a teeny buckle.  The buckle was too intricate to work with my felt, but it sure is adorable with paper!  I just used some hot glue to put this all together, and it works great!  Quick and easy!

MCT February Sneak Peek #1

Are you ready for a fun week of sneaks of the awesome new My Creative Time release?  Emma has once again created a fabulous line-up of new stamps and dies!  Today I'm showcasing the new Stitched Chevy Dies.

There are four dies in this set, but I didn't use the largest one for my card.  My card base is a 4-Bar style (3 1/2" x 5").  I used the Get Schooled stamp set to stamp some diagonal lines on the base.  Then I cut a 3 1/4" x 5" piece of white cardstock and used some washi tape to position the chevy dies before running it through my Vagabond.  I love how these dies leave stitching on the negative.  I die cut my chevrons again out of three different shades of purple Papertrey Ink cardstock, and nestled them into the openings in the white cardstock.  Lastly, I stamped "thank you" from the Fly Away With Me Sentiments stamp set.

Since I really liked how this card turned out, I decided to make some more, in different colors.

I ended up with a full set of thank you notes, ready to go!
