MCT 32nd Edition Release Blog Hop

It's the My Creative Time May Release Blog Hop!  I hope you arrived here from Emma's blog!  If not, be sure to head back there, so you don't miss a bit of the fun!  There are so many wonderful new stamp and die sets being released this month!  For today's hop, I'm showcasing Live, Love, Laugh, and be Happy, Pretty Butterflies & Dragonfly Dies, Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background, and Bunches of Fun Circles Dies.

I made a shaped card using the fun wavy circle from the Bunches of Fun Circles Dies.  To get the cool pattern on it, I stamped it with the watercolor stamps from Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background  with Seedless Preserves distress ink.  Then I inked over the whole thing with that same color ink with a blending tool (it was white paper to start).  The center paper was light blue, and I stamped the script stamp from Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background on it with Versamark ink.  The sentiment is from an older MCT set, Many Greetings.

Aren't these butterflies gorgeous???  I cut them out of white paper, using the Pretty Butterflies & Dragonfly Dies.  Then I stamped them with the coordinating stamps from Live, Love, Laugh and be Happy, again using Seedless Preserves distress ink, and inking up the full die-cuts.  Then I stamped the little butterfly "trail" with Versafine ink.

MCT May Release Sneak Peek #4

It's the last day of sneak peeks for the May My Creative Time Release!  Is your shopping list growing?  There are three more new sets being showcased today, and I used one of them on my card: the Pretty Butterflies & Dragonfly Dies!  You are going to love these!

To make my card I used a technique that I learned in Online Card Classes' Watercolor for Card Makers, in which I made score lines on watercolor paper with my Scor-Pal and then used distress inks and water to get the cool background.

I made this dragonfly with one of the new dies.  Isn't it beautiful with the little dot embossing?  I inked it up with some distress inks to match it to my background.  The doilies were cut from tissues paper with the MCT Stitched Doily Die.

I used Stazon Ink to stamp my sentiment, from MCT's Many Greetings Stamp Set, on a hand-cut vellum banner.  A few scattered Melissa Frances pearls finished off the card!

MCT May Release Sneak Peek #3

It's time for another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks, and we've got three more sets of a nautical theme to share with you today:  the Hey Sailor Stamp Set and the Anchors & Heart Dies and Make a Splash Die!  I've actually included a little bit of all of them on my card here!

First off is this adorable anchor and chain, just two of the dies included in the Anchors & Heart Dies set.  I just love them!!!  Notice the anchor has the "dotted stitching" around the edges.  If you decide to use the negative cut, you get regular stitching!  To cut my sand, I used one of my trusty Fun Stitched Edges Dies.  Those waves were made with a new border die:  Make a Splash!  Perfect for summer!

I used the the new Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background stamp with Soft Sky ink on white cardstock to get my pretty sky and then added a few birds from the new Lost at Sea stamp set.  The sweet sentiment is from Hey Sailor.  Then I added a little heart cut with a die from the 4x4 Journal Die + More set.

MCT May Release Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for some more My Creative Time sneak peeks?  I think today's projects will get you in the mood for summer!  We are sneaking two new sets today, and I'm showcasing one with my project:  Lost at Sea.  I thought this would be the perfect set to use for my dad's Father's Day card, since he used to be in the Navy.

This set comes with adorable porthole dies, and I used one to make a shaker element.  The dolphin and bird are just a couple of the sea themed stamps from this set.

I love the font for the sentiment!  The die I used for my banner is from Vintage Stitched Label Dies.

MCT May Release Sneak Peek #1

It's time for another awesome week of My Creative Time sneak peeks!  I've got a lot to share with you today, because we are sneaking THREE of the new sets today!  First off is a fun stamp and die set called Speech Bubble Sentiments.  I used it on this graduation card for my son Eric.  I can't believe that he is graduating from high school this week!

I started with a 4 1/4" x 11" blue card base and used the speech bubble die to trim off one end.  I then made a red layer to adhere behind since red and that shade of blue are Eric's school colors.  "Hello" is one of three word dies that comes with this set,  and "graduate" is one of the many coordinating stamps!  I die cut the graduation cap using a die from an older set, Here's Lookin' at You.

On the inside, I stamped a sentiment and "Class of 2014" from Follow Your Dreams.  The diploma is also from Follow Your Dream.  I stamped it onto white cardstock and then fussy cut around it before adhering it to the card.  A little white stitching with a gel pen finished off the card!

For this next card, I am showcasing a beautiful watercolor stamp from the new Build a Scripty & Watercolor Background.  Doesn't it make a gorgeous sky?  This is a card for a teacher friend of mine who is packing up with her husband and moving halfway across the country to open up a restaurant in Colorado.  I thought this sentiment from Way to Go was just perfect for them.  The cute little bikes are also from Way to Go, and I cut the hills with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies.

Lastly, I have a little birthday card showcasing the new Bunch of Fun Circle Dies.  You are going to love these unique dies!  As you can see, the circles cut out with little dots around the edges, but if you use the negative, you get stitching!  So fun!

For my background on this card, I used a watercolor technique that I learned from Tim Holtz in Online Card Classes' Watercolor for Card Makers, using his mini distress inks and a Heidi Swapp stencil.  I then turned one of the circles cut with the new circle die into a cute little face using a Peachy Keen stamp and added a speech bubble with one of the MCT Stitched Square Speech Bubbles and a sentiment from Fun Gift Pocket Sentiments!
