It's Your Day to Shine!

The layout of today's card was inspired by one made by my design team sister Jessica.  I love how she used one of the new My Creative Time Stitched Oval Dies hanging off the side of her card.  I made this a 3 1/2" x 5" card and used one of the MCT Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies for my green base.  I covered the stars I made with MCT's 3 Star Stitched Dies with Glossy Accents and popped them up with dimensional adhesives.  To make the sentiment, I spelled out "It's your day to" with letters from Alpha Pack" and then used part of a sentiment from You're Brilliant to get "Shine!"  The patterned paper I used for the oval is from an older Simple Stories collection called Happy Day.

Update to the MCT Searchable Catalogue

Good morning!  I just wanted to let all of you know that I've updated the My Creative Time Searchable Catalogue with the last few releases.  Sorry I got a bit behind; the class I'm teaching this year has kept me particularly busy! But now that the first trimester of school is over and report cards have been submitted, I'm hopeful that things will calm down, and I'll have some more crafty time.

To access the catalogue, just click on the icon to the right.  You'll be able to see it there.  If you'd like to take advantage of the searchable feature, download it to your desktop and/or an iPad.  I created a video last year explaining how to do so, which you can view here.  If you are downloading to your iPad from a Mac, note that when I made the video I mention the Mavericks operating system.  It works the same way for the Yosemite operating system.

Have a great weekend!

MCT 38th Edition Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Creative Time 38th Edition Release Blog Hop! If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

I had fun creating a little scene using the new Stitched Window Dies & Accessories and the coordinating Window Sentiments & Flowers stamps for my card today.  I used my Scor-Pal to score every 1/2" on gray cardstock to create some faux siding for my house.  Don't you just love the cute little window, curtains, and planter box you can make with the dies?  To make the flowers, I stamped the image on white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then watercolored them.  After that I was able to use the coordinating die to cut them out.  I heat embossed my sentiment with white embossing powder.

Here's a closer look at the new sets I used on today's card.  They are all available for purchase now in the My Creative Time Store

MCT November Sneak Peek #3

It's day 3 of my Creative Time November Sneak Peeks!  I'm so excited for what we are sneaking today:  super cute Snowman Dies and an adorable Snow Buddies stamp set!  I had fun making this little gift bag with my Silhouette Cameo and then decorating it with the new products!  The 3d Gift Bag with Handles cut by Lori Whitlock can be found in the Silhouette Online Store.  I cut the bag using patterned paper from Echo Park's Winter Wishes paper.  I embossed the green trim with the Cuttlebug Snowflake Embossing Folder and used a little Papertrey Ink Canyon Clay Twill Ribbon for my handles.

This adorable little snowman was made with some of the dies from Snowman Dies.  He was so fun to put together, and I used just some of the options!  I made the snowdrift with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies and stamped it with a sweet sentiment from the new Snow Buddies stamp set.

I made this little gift bag for my son, filling it with some chocolates and a Starbucks gift card to help get him through the last few weeks of his first semester of college.  Since I plan on making one for his girlfriend too, it needed a tag with his name on it. I used the tag dies from Chunky Jar Accessories and stamped his name using the smallest font from Alpha Pack.  Perfect!

MCT November Sneak Peek #2

I have another My Creative Time sneak peek for you, and you are going to love today's new products!  I made my cute little window and shelf using the new Stitched Window Dies & Accessories!  This set also comes with curtains, a window box, flower dies, and more, but I decided to go for a clean and simple look since I wanted to create a scene from inside a living room looking out on a winter day.

Working from the outside in, I created some snowdrifts using the Fun Stitched Edges Dies, and added a couple of fir trees made with dies from Seasonal Greetings.  After die cutting the window, I lay it upon some clear cardstock so that I could cut around it to create some "glass" that I could adhere behind the window frame.  I made the holly with dies from Boughs of Holly, the flowers and pot with dies from Way to Go, the present with a die from All Around Holidays, and the little ornament with a die from Seasonal Greetings.  The patterned paper I used is from an older Echo park 6x6 pack, Season's Greetings.

On the inside I stamped a sentiment from the coordinating stamp set that I am sneaking today, Window Sentiments & Flowers.  This stamp set has several images that coordinate with the dies, plus lots of sentiments using this lovely font.  This card is 3 1/2" x 5".
