MCT Try Something New Tuesday

It's Try Something New Tuesday with My Creative Time, and I tried a new technique today to make a word die pop!  I diecut a rainbow of cardstock strips, using one of the wave dies from You're a Great Catch. Then, as you can see in my picture below, I completely covered a square of printer paper with my Tombow Stamp Runner Dot Adhesive and lay the strips on it.  Once they were all secure, I ran this through my Vagabond with the 3 1/2" square die from Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out.  Then I ran it through the Vagabond again with the "hello" die from Speech Bubble Sentiments.  I was sure to save all of the little pieces that came out of the letters.  I stamped "there" from Speech Bubble Sentiments onto the rainbow piece and then adhered it to a 4" square card base, adding the little pieces from the insides of the letters (and now I have a really pretty rainbow "hello" diecut to use on another card).  I finished the card off with a few silver sequins.

Happy Thoughts Watercoloring

I'm taking Online Card Classes' Watercolor for Card Makers:  Exploring Mediums, and I tried out one of Kristina Werner's techniques for my card today.  I lightly traced one of the star dies from My Creative Time's Bunch of Stitched Star Dies onto watercolor paper, and then masked the edges with some rubber cement.  I was then able to give a light blue "halo" around the outside of it, using one of my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, with water and a watercolor brush.  Once it dried, I rubbed off the rubber cement, and painted the star itself, using color from the Zig pens and a watercolor brush.

After it dried, I trimmed the whole thing with one of the MCT Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out, and then added a stamped sentiment from MCT's Happy Thoughts.  The "happy" die I used is also from this set.  A few clear sequins finished it off!

Birthday Circles

I'm still having fun playing the fabulous new My Creative Time release!  For this card, I used my favorite new set, Happy Everything!  I love it because it's so easy to make a quick card with it!  For this one, I started by using the largest of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies to die cut my rectangle, and then I ran it through my Vagabond again with the Circle Stitched Pattern Die to get the cool circle design.  I cut a few circles out of Echo Park's Fine & Dandy patterned paper collection with the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, and layered them on a couple of circle of white cardstock before adhering them to the card.  I cut "happy" (using the die from Happy Everything) three times as well, to give it extra dimension.  "Birthday" is just one of the many sentiments from this set.

MCT 47th Edition Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the My Creative Time 47th Edition Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica.  If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

My project today features the darling new Stitched Treat Sleeve, Stitched Belly Band Dies,  and Belly Band stamps!  I used the Stitched Treat Sleeve with the the Echo Park The Story of Christmas paper collection.  I love that woodgrain/snowflake pattern!  Then I cut the belly band out of red cardstock, and used the coordinating dies with burlap paper and rustic white cardstock.  There are lots of sentiments for all different occasions that fit into this little frame.   The one I chose works perfectly with my cookie and Christmas theme.  Then I thought it would be fun to add some die-cut mittens, using my favorite Winter Cheer mitten dies.  Wouldn't you just love to find this little treat on your desk at work during the holidays?

Here's a closer look at the Stitched Treat Sleeve, Stitched Belly Band Dies, and the Belly Band stamps.  They are available for preorder now in the My Creative Time Store

Our "Freebie" for this release is this adorable "Dec25" stamp and die set.  It will be given to the FIRST 150 shoppers!  If you are one of the first 150 shoppers, it will be automatically added to your package at the time of packaging/shipping.  Once the first 150 shoppers come through, the die will be available for purchase.  So if it's for sale in the store, you are not one of the 150.  No exceptions will be made.  This freebie die is not a part of the "bundle" and will be sold separately!
