MCT What a Treat Wednesday

It's What a Treat Wednesday with My Creative Time, and I've started in on making little Valentine treat bags for my students!  I pulled out the adorable gift bag die from the Chalkboard Birthday set and die cut my bag with some Recollections patterned paper.

How many of you have the Holiday Tags set?  Don't leave that one put away until next Christmas!  Those tags are great to use all year round!  I used the round tag shape for my kraft layer and then used it again to round out the edges of a strip of patterned paper to layer on top.  The red tag layer is also from Holiday Tags.  The cute little felt heart was cut with a die from You're a Hit Valentine, and I added a little button and twine on that.  The sentiment is from the Teeny Tag Holidays stamp set.

MCT 51st Edition Release Blog Hop

It's blog hop day for the My Creative Time 51st Edition Release!  We're also celebrating 5 years of Emma's wonderful products, so I thought I'd make a cute shaped card to reflect that!  I used the larger of the new Party Hat Dies to make my white card base and die cut the layer out of some fun patterned paper.  I then ran that layer through my Vagabond with the "celebrate" die from the new Let's Party Word Dies so that I could inlay a "celebrate" die cut that I made out of aqua cardstock.  I die cut the pom pom twice, offsetting them when I adhered them to the card, which I thought gave it a cool look.  A cute button and some hemp finished it off!

MCT 51st Edition Sneak Peek #4

It's our last day of My Creative Time sneak peeks before the big reveal tomorrow, and we've got some really cute dies to share with you today!  I used one of the sets on my project today:  Party Hat Dies!  I used the larger stitched party hat for my scarlet background layer, and then cut the top layer in pink.  I also cut it in red and kraft to be able to make the polka-dots be a variety of colors.  The dies come with a paper "pom-pom," but for this card, I decided to make one out of yarn.  I found this video on YouTube that explains how to make a pom-pom on a fork.  It was pretty easy!

For my sentiment, I used one from Vintage Sentiments, stamping it on a banner made from one of the Trio Stitched Banner Dies.  I mounted the whole thing on rectangles made from the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More and the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies.

MCT 51st Edition Sneak Peek #3

Are you ready for another My Creative Time sneak peek?  We have an adorable stamp and die set to share with you today called Cute Tag Sentiments!  This set includes a fun new tag die with a layer, four awesome sentiments, and a few extra images with coordinating dies.

For my card today, I thought it would be fun to make a pocket for the new tag.  I created it with one of the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies, trimming the top with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies.  I wrapped a little Papertrey Ink ribbon around it and added a felt flower made with one of the Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies, along with a tag made with the Teeny Tag Layering Dies.  The tag was stamped with a sentiment from Teeny Tag Greetings.

The tag itself was made with the new tag dies from Cute Tag Sentiments, and stamped with a sentiment from that set.  You can't tell from how I covered the top with all of those felt flowers and leaves from Stitched Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies, but the top of the tag has kind of a flower shape.

Here's how it looks with the tag tucked into the pocket.  I added some interest to my card base by laying a Heidi Swapp polka dot stencil on top of it and spraying some Mister Huey Color Mist Shine on top of it.

MCT 51st Edition Sneak Peek #2

We've got another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks today, and you will love the stamp set we are sneaking!  You Matter is fill of inspirational stamps in a big bold font.  These are perfect when you want to give a little encouragement to somebody you care about!

For my card, I splattered some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Ground Expresso onto my cream card base by smooshing some of the ink onto my craft mat, adding water to it with a watercolor brush, and then flicking the watercolor brush toward the paper.  Once it dried, I added the sentiment from You Matter, and then I created my cluster of stars.  I stamped some of them, using the solid star stamps from Hello Baby, and the outlined star stamps from Thanks for the Lift.  I pulled out some of my patterned paper scraps and made a variety of stars using the Bunch of Stitched Star Dies, adhering some of them with dimensional adhesive to give it more interest.
