MCT Tutorial Thursday

It's Tutorial Thursday with My Creative Time, and I've got a fun technique to share with you today.  To make this card, I cut my card base, plus an additional piece of cardstock and then used my Misti to  stamp one circle at a time, from You Are Spot On, on each piece, so that the two pieces ended up exactly the same.  You can see them below.  I then ran the spare piece through my Vagabond with the Big Hello die, and also cut out two additional layers of "hello" out of white cardstock, adhering them together for extra thickness.  After that, I adhered the whole thing to the top of the card, lining up all of the circles.  Finally, I went back and added a few more circle stamps to the card base to finish it off!

MCT Favorite Stamp of the Month

For my card today I embossed the gorgeous wood grain heart stamp from Carved Heart on a piece of vellum.  I then took the coordinating die, and die cut the heart shape out of my card base and out of another piece of cardstock so that I could sandwich the vellum piece between them.  After that I added "hello," made with the Fun Notes stamp and die set and a few hearts made with dies from Carved Heart.

I found a fun card in Cricut "Make It Now" and discovered that if I made it without using the included arrows (which I did not own), I could make it for free!  Not a problem, since I have plenty of arrow dies.  So my Cricut did all of the writing and cut out "thanks," and then I used My Creative Time's Stitched Mini Frame & Arrow Dies for the orange arrow and Papertrey Ink's Get to the Point for the rest of the arrows.  Super easy for a fast thank you card!

Jellyfish Goodbye

I made this good-bye card for one of my students at the end of the year.  His family was moving to Arkansas, so my whole class made cards for him.  This funny little jellyfish is from the Cricut Animal Antics cartridge.  For the background, I stamped the new My Creative Time Fun Polka Dots background stamp onto a rectangle that I cut with a MCT Stitched Rectangular Frame Die.  Then I pieced together a sentiment, using part of one from MCT's I Love You Beary Much and part of one from MCT's Lots of Love.

I love the big and bold sentiments on the new My Creative Time Just a Note set!  They are perfect for making quick note cards.  I just added some pretty vines and flowers from the Hello You set on this 3 1/2" x 5" card, and that was it!
