MCT 3D Wednesday

It's 3D Wednesday with My Creative Time!  Today I created a cute little Easter book box.  I think these are so adorable, and they are actually quite easy to create without any special tools, following a tutorial on the Stampin' Nerd blog.  I decorated it with a doily made with one of the Bunch of Stitched Doily Dies.  I then layered that with a scene made with a basket and bow from Hello Chickie, grass made with one of the Pretty Edge Dies, and a cute little bunny made with one of the Mini Bunny Dies.

When the book opens up it reveals a little box that is the perfect size for a gift card!  I even added a ribbon with a couple of eggs from the Scalloped Egg Dies attached to the end of it to use as a bookmark.

MCT Manly Monday

It's Manly Monday with My Creative Time, a day to try to make a masculine project.  I'm not sure if I hit the mark on this one, but I tried to keep it simple and stick with just shades of blue.  At the same time, I was trying out a new technique that I learned in the StampNation site:  creating faux layered covered dies.  The My Creative Time circle dies from the You Are Spot On stamp and die set were perfect for this technique!  I started by die cutting the three larger circles two times each out of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of white cardstock.  I then lined up a piece of light blue cardstock underneath the white piece and placed slightly smaller dies within each circle, removing the white piece, and running the light blue piece through my Vagabond.  I repeated this same process with a medium blue piece of cardstock.  I then adhered all of them onto a navy piece of cardstock, which I adhered to my card base.  The "happy" die cut was made with a die from Happy Everything, and the "birthday" stamp came from that set as well.

MCT Anything Goes!

It's Anything Goes day with My Creative Time!  I thought I'd take this opportunity to make a cute little spring birthday card!  I used the new Favorite Bunny stamp and die set for the perfect sentiment and the new Mini Bunny Dies to make my adorable little bunny.  It's hard to see in the picture, but I colored his eye with a Sakura Blake Glaze Gel Pen to give it some shine.  I then used the largest of the Stitched Circle Balloon Dies to make my pretty balloon, using some retired Papertrey Ink patterned paper.  I tied it with PTI Rustic Jute Button Twine.

Selective Stenciling

I recently joined Stamp Nation, and I'm having fun watching the tutorials and learning some new techniques.  For today's card, I tried "Selective Stenciling with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens."  To do this, I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock, taped a mini Heidi Swapp stencil to it, and then selectively chose triangles to color in with my Zig pens.  Kind of fun!  I then trimmed down the piece with one of the My Creative Time Stitched Squares Dies Inside & Out and mounted it onto a 3" x 3" card base.  The sentiment is from MCT's Vintage Sentiments, and I mounted it onto a banner made with one of the MCT Vintage Stitched Label Dies, with the length adjusted.  A few Neat & Tangled sequins finished it off!

Congrats on your EMT Job!

My son has been studying to be an EMT, and he just got his first job!  Luckily, I had the perfect stamp set to celebrate this occasion:  Papertrey Ink's Special Delivery.  I was able to create a cute little ambulance with its stamps and dies.  I then used PTI's City Scene to create my background scene. The sentiment is from the retired My Creative Time set, Fun Variety on the Inside & Out.
