MCT Inspire Me Wednesday

It's Inspire Me Wednesday with My Creative Time, and I modeled my card today after the cutest card that I found on Pinterest!  To do so, I cut a rainbow of stripes of cardstock and adhered them both to my white card base, and to another piece of white cardstock.  I then die cut the separate piece of cardstock with the largest scalloped die from Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.  I added a sentiment onto this layer from the Sea You Soon set.  Next I die cut a scalloped square, using one of the Scallop Stitched Square Dies, and then die cut a balloon in the center of it, using one of the Stitched Large Balloon Dies.  I attached this piece to my card with some dimensional adhesive.  I finished off the card with some Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Confetti.

Vintage Truck Box Card

When I saw this vintage truck box card cut on SVGCuts.com, I just couldn't resist!  Isn't it the cutest? I made it for my dad's birthday, so I added a present to it with, using one of the My Creative Time Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out with one of the MCT Cute Bow Dies!

For the sentiment on the side, I used a stamp from MCT's Prehistoric Holidays.

MCT 69th Edition Release Blog Hop & Sale

Welcome to the My Creative Time 69th Edition Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica.  If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

My card today is showcasing the new Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies!  I got a little inky with this card.  I used the largest of the scalloped rectangle to make a die cut out of Strathmore Bristol cardstock, and then inked up a rainbow with distress inks.  I then die cut "hello" with the Big Hello die and some hearts, using dies from Hey There Little Lady, from the center, where it wouldn't show, once I covered it.  I had to be careful to place all of the dies exactly where I would want to place the die cuts on my white layer, so that the rainbow colors would match up with the scalloped layer.  The rounded white rectangle was made with the largest rectangular die from Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.

Here's a closer look at the Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies.  It is available now in the My Creative Time Store

MCT 69th Edition Sneak Peek #3

It's our last day of the My Creative Time 69th Edition sneak peeks!  Tomorrow is the day you can finally see this awesome release in its entirety and get shopping!  But first, we have one last set of dies and a freebie for you to get a glimpse of today.

The last die set is called Big Stitched Flip Flop!  How cute is this?  It's perfect for your summer projects!  It comes with this GIANT flip flop, and a scalloped layer to put behind, which I didn't use on today's project.  Beside the flower embellishment that I used, there are also a heart and a star!  I had fun using different textures on my flip flop.  For the flower, I used the DCWV Canvas Mat Stack, and for the strap, I used the DCWV Gauze Paper Stack.  A few days ago I had tried inking up a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock with distress ink, laying a Hero Arts stencil on top, and spritzing it with water.  It didn't quite turn out how I envisioned it, but I thought it was kind of a cool look for the base of my flip flop.  The fun sentiment is from Sit Back & Relax - Revised, and I used the new Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies to ground it all, popping it up from my card base with some fun foam.  Some Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Confetti finished off this card.

For my next card, I had a little inking fun!  I cut a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock the size of my card base and inked it up with Salty Ocean and Peackcock Feathers Distress Inks.  I then added a white layer made with one of the Scalloped Stitched Square Dies, stamping on a sentiment from Make a Splash.  For the presents, I used one of the Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies and one of the Scalloped Stitched Squares Dies, inking both of them up with distress inks. The adorable bows on top of the presents were made with this month's freebie, Cute Bows, which is free with your order tomorrow if you are one of the first 75 shoppers, beginning at 8 AM PST.

MCT 69th Edition Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks?  Today we an awesome new die to share called Stitched Square Box!  This is perfect for little treats, a small jewelry gift, or fun block decor!

I'm in the process of making a new library corner in my classroom, and I thought it would be fun to create a cute little decoration with this new die.  I was able to use the colors I'm using in my classroom this year too!  On each block, I added a white square, made with one of the Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out.  I then added letters made with the Uppercase Fun Dies, plus a heart made with one of the Stitched Heart Layering Dies.  I thought these would be really cute in a baby's room too, spelling out the baby's name!  Or they could be used for a baby shower!  Really, the possibilities are endless with this die!

MCT 69th Edition Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 69th Edition Sneak Peeks!  We've got another fabulous new release for you this week, and today we are sneaking a great new die set called Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies!  This set includes 8 dies, alternating scallops and rectangles!

For my card today, I used the new dies to make some a blue scalloped and a white rectangular mat to work with.  I just love the pretty dimension they add to the card!  I then took the white stitched rectangle (don't you love the rounded corners?) mat and put a post-it on it, so that I could add a little soft sky ink with an ink blending tool.  That cute pineapple was made with a stamp and die from the Berry Special set.  I stamped it on Strathmore Bristol cardstock so that I could color it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a water brush.  Then sentiment and die cut were made with the Sweet Wishes set!

First Day of School Welcome Cards

I'm trying to get a head start on my projects for the beginning of the school year.  I made a class set of these to put on each child's desk for the first day of school.  Of course, I'm going to have to find some cuter pencils!  I made the base with one of My Creative Time's MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies and trimmed the white piece with one of the MCT More Stitched Edges.  The Papertrey Ink Write Stuff Holders Die was perfect for making the little slots for my pencil to slide through!  I used PTI's Apple Prints to make the big apple and the row of stamped apples, and the sentiment is from MCT's Write On.

Apple Cart Treat Box

The main reason I picked up the Papertrey Ink Market Street Kit was to be able to make these adorable cart treat boxes.  They are so cute, and very easy to make!  I added stamped and die cut apples for the inside, but there are several flower options as well (or you can just leave them off completely).  I used the included stencil to make stripes on the canopy, and the tag and sentiment are also from the kit.

I attached the canopy with brads so that it swings over to make it easy to put a treat in and to take it out!

MCT Made in Minutes Monday

It's Made in Minutes Monday with My Creative Time, a day that we make projects that can be done in a short amount of time.  Today I made a sympathy card using the Healing Wishes stamp and die set.  I just love all of the little flower arrangements in this set.  I stamped this one with Versamark Ink onto Strathmore Bristol cardstock so that I could color it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, and then die cut it with the coordinating die.  For my card base and layer, I used the Scallop Stitched Square Dies.  The sentiment is from Healing Wishes, and I finished off the card with some Simon Says Stamp Moonshine Confetti.  Very quick and simple, but I think the scalloped square gives it an elegant look!

Summer Hello

I made this card using some of the supplies from Simon Says Stamps' July Card Kit.  I actually used My Creative Time's Stitched Postage Frame Dies for the base, but all of the stamps (sentiment, clouds, and birds) are from the Sea You Soon stamp set that is included in the kit.  The kit also included the Moonshine Confetti, which I think adds such a pretty touch to any card!

MCT Weird Holiday - Ice Cream Day!

We're celebrating weird holidays with My Creative Time today. Did you know that July 16th is National Ice Cream Day?  I thought it would be fun to make an ice-cream birthday card for a friend who has a birthday on that same date!  I was able to make a super tall ice cream treat by making this card the size to fit in a business sized envelope:  9 1/4 x 4".  My striped layer is 9 1/4 x 3 3/4", and I made those stripes with a stencil from the Papertrey ink Market Street Kit and Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Squeezed Lemonade.

To make my ice cream cone, I die cut all of the pieces from Strathmore Watercolor paper, using dies from My Creative Time's You Make Life Sweet.  I then watercolored them with a paintbrush, picking up colors from my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, that I scribbled onto a craft mat.  "Happy birthday" was made with the MCT Happy Everything set.  I then finished off the card with some Pretty Pink Posh sequins.
