MCT Inspire Me Wednesday

It's Inspire Me Wednesday with My Creative Time!  Today I've been inspired by all of the Halloween decor and crafts I've been seeing everywhere.  They've reminded me that it's time to make little treat holders to hold Halloween treats for my students!

This year I decided to use the Treat Pouch Die since it's the perfect size to house some little goodies.  I decorated it with the adorable ghost from Spooky & Creepy Night!  I love the coordinating sentiment from this set, and I stamped it onto a banner made with a die from Ribbon End Banners.  Some fun Halloween colored twine finished off this treat box!

Book Fair Thank You Note

We had our school book fair a couple of weeks ago, and lots of families were very generous and bought books for my classroom.  I made a bunch of these notes to thank them.  For the card itself, I used the die from My Creative Time's Just a Note.  I love this die for making little notes to my students that I can leave on their desks without the need for an envelope.

To decorate it, I used Papertrey Ink's Back To School Stamp Set.  I added a little gray marker to ground the books, using one of my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  Using my Misti made mass producing these cards very quick and easy!

MCT 72nd Edition Release Blog Hop & Sale!

For my tag today, I used the new Sweet Candy Cane Die.  I just love this die!  I think it could even make a tag by itself, with its large size!  But for mine, I adhered it to a base made with Tag Dies and Tag Die Layers.  I also added a bow made with the Small Scalloped Stitched Bow Die and decorated that with holly and berries from the Boughs of Holly set.  I finished off the front of the tag with a sentiment from Mini Christmas Greetings.

I die cut another layer from Tag Dies so that I could run it through the Vagabond with the new Stitched Candy Cane Background for the back of the tag.  It turned out so pretty that I think I'll make some of these for just quick and easy tags by themselves!  Here I added "to" and "from" using stamps from Mini Christmas Greetings.

MCT 72nd Edition Sneak Peek

It's our last day of the My Creative Time 72nd Edition sneak peeks!  Tomorrow is the day you can finally see this awesome release in its entirety and get shopping!  But first, we have one last adorable stamp and die set to sneak for you today.  You are going to love A Sloth Holiday!

I don't know what it is about sloths, but they are just so cute!  As soon as I saw this set, I knew that I needed to use it to make a birthday card for a boy in my class.  For Christmas, there is also a super cute sloth on a candy cane image. But for course for this birthday card, I chose the sloth on the tree branch, coloring him with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  I created a little window frame for him using one of the Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out, along with More Stitched Rectangular Dies, for the outer rectangle.  Then, since it's a birthday card, I added a little present, made with a die from All Around Holidays, to put next to that cute sentiment!

MCT 72nd Edition Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks?  Today we have the sweetest new stamp and die set to share, called Gingerbread Friends!  We are also sneaking this month's freebie:  Gingerbread Banners!  Gingerbread Banners is free with your order this Friday if you are one of the first 75 shoppers, beginning at 8 AM PST.

Gingerbread Friends is a super cute set with some sentiments that crack me up!  I just had to use this sad little gingerbread girl to create a holiday get well card.  There are four different gingerbread people included in this set, each with coordinating dies.  I colored mine with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and placed her on a "cookie sheet" made with one of the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies.  Of course, I needed an oven mitt to go with that, and luckily there was the perfect die in the Stitched Apron Dies set.  Then I was very happy to find an icing bag stamp and die in the Mixed Just for You set.  It was the perfect touch to go with that sentiment!  I grounded the whole thing on a plaid mat die cut with one of the Stitched Postage Frame Dies.

To finish it off, I used one of the Gingerbread Banners for my sentiment, which is from Gingerbread Frames.  A lot of these sentiments fit perfectly either with this die or the other banner die included in the set!

MCT 72nd Edition Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 72nd Edition Sneak Peeks!  I'm just loving this release, and I think you will too!  Today we are showcasing the new Sweet Candy Cane Die and Stitched Candy Cane Background sets!

For my project today, I thought it would be fun to make a card with a big mug of hot chocolate on it.  The new Sweet Candy Cane Die makes a nice big candy cane, that is the perfect size for my mug!  I had to make a pretty large card (5 1/2" x 6 3/4") to fit this.

For the mug, I used the You Deserve a Break set.  I love the little marshmallows that come in this set too.  They look so cute paired with the candy cane!  And now that I've embossed the mug with the Stitched Candy Cane Background, I want a set of these in real life!

For a finishing touch, I added a little tag, using one of the Fun Stitched Tag Dies.  I heat embossed a sentiment from Mini Christmas Greetings and added a few hearts made with dies from 4x4 Journal Die + More.  I hope you enjoy these new sets as much as we do!

Wedding Card

A colleague of mine is getting married this weekend, so I had to make her a special card!  I used my new Cricut Maker and one of the "Make It Now" projects to make the card base.  I was quite impressed with how well it cut out all of the intricate details!  The bride and groom were created with my Papertrey Ink Man & Wife Dies.

Lastly, I stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Book Cover Details.

MCT Made in Minutes

It's Made in Minutes Monday with My Creative Time, a day to make a quick project that doesn't take a lot of time!  One of my students has a birthday coming up next week, and I thought the Get Whale Soon stamp and die set would be perfect for his card!  I was able to piece together two of the stamps to make the sentiment, and I just love the whale stamp and die from this set!

The waves are from some Carta Bella patterned paper - the Ahoy There collection, and I trimmed the top with a die from You're a Great Catch.  I also trimmed the whole top layer of the card with one of the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies.

MCT 48 Hour Flash Sale & Blog Hop!

For my project today, I made a pretty fall card.  I took a piece of Strathmore Bristol cardstock and used the gorgeous tree and leaf stencil from the kit to create my fall tree.  To make the grass, I just masked off part of the cardstock with post-its, and then inked up the bottom with green ink.  "Thankful" was made with a die included in the kit, and "for you" was stamped with one of the many included stamps.  Once this piece was all put together, I layered it onto my card base, along with a strip of some pretty patterned paper.

The kit also includes a beautiful die that I used to emboss an envelope to use with my card.  To do this, I just ran the envelope through my Vagabond with the die, an embossing mat, and the plates set up as I would if I were using an embossing folder instead of a die.  Such a cool look!

Flying Dog Birthday

I had another student birthday this week!  I thought this cut from the Cricut Just a Note cartridge was too cute!  I adhered it onto a square cut with one of the My Creative Time  Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out.  The sentiment is put together with one from Thanks for the Lift and another from Prehistoric Holidays.

MCT Weird Holiday

We're celebrating weird holidays with My Creative Time today!  Did you know that October 21st is "Sweetest Day"?  I didn't!  If you wanted to celebrate this holiday, I think I made the perfect card for it!  I used the You Make Life Sweet stamp and die set, and made some adorable felt ice cream cones.  I hot glued them onto my card base, which is layered with  one of the Scalloped Stitched Rectangles.  The sentiment is also from You Make Life Sweet.

Confession:  I actually made this card for one of my students, who celebrated her birthday this week by going to the new Ice Cream Museum in San Francisco.  I thought it would be perfect for that occasion too!  ;-)
