MCT Weird Holiday

It's time to celebrate a "weird holiday" with My Creative Time!  Did you know that May 15th is "Chocolate Chip Day"?  Neither did I!  But, I thought I better get ready by making a cute tag to attach to a bag of chocolate chip cookies to give to a friend!  I used the new Super Tag Dies for my tag base.  I'm loving this new tag shape!  Then I pulled out the Baked with Love set for my sentiment and cookies.  Perfect!

MCT Inspire Me Wednesday

It's another Inspire Me Wednesday with My Creative Time!  I pinned a card by Laura Bassen a while back because I loved her rainbow stripes and she used a negative of a die cut sentiment that was really striking.

It was easy enough to create something similar, using one of the MCT Scalloped Stitched Rectangular Dies and a "thanks" die from the Thank You & Frame set.  To easily make the background, I cut cardstock in the colors I liked in 1/2" strips, covered a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of printer paper with Stick It Adhesive, and then lay down all of the strips.  Once I trimmed off the excess, I just adhered this piece down to my card base, added my little rectangle and some sequins, and that was it!

10 Year Old Birthday Card

One of my students turns ten today, and I found this cute cut of a squirrel holding a 1 in the Cricut  Birthday Bash cartridge.  I just added a 0 in Cricut design space, adhered it to some patterned paper trimmed with one of the My Creative Time MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies, and added a sentiment from MCT's Make a Wish!

MCT 78th Edition Sneak Peek #3

It's our last day of the My Creative Time 78th Edition sneak peeks!  Tomorrow is the day you can finally see this awesome release in its entirety and get shopping!  But first, we have one last die set for you to get a peek at.  You're going to love the new Kindness stamp and die set!  This set is just what we need at this time in our world.  It is filled with beautiful sentiments and lots of adorable dies:  a tag, the world, and lots of little hearts.

I made a sweet little card that can be used as a thank you or just to show appreciation of somebody.  I started with one of the Stitched Postage Frame Dies for a centering point, layered on top of some patterned paper die cut with one of the Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out.  Isn't this sentiment from Kindness the sweetest?  And I just love the little world die cut!  I thought it would be fun to add a chain of hearts across it, and I gave them some shine with Glossy Accents.

MCT 78th Release Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of the My Creative Time 78th Edition Release sneak peeks?  I'm just loving these sets!  We have two more sneaks for you today:  Have a Super Day and Super Tag Dies!

First up, I have a card that I made using Have a Super Day.  I'm always looking for a good stamp/die set for masculine cards, and this is just perfect!  And, for the bonus, it has a Supergirl in it too!  There are so many sentiments for all different occasions.  For my card today, I used one of the Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out with some fun Simple Stories patterned paper along with one of the Stitched Starburst Dies to make a fun background.  Then I used the dies from Have a Super Day to make my little Superman.  All of the stars were made with dies from this set as well.  It also comes with a variety of sizes of heart dies!  I love the font on the sentiment!

Next I made a tag using both of the new sets!  Super Tag Dies contains three dies, and I used all three for this tag.  It has the basic tag (the turquoise here), the stitched layer, and the cute starburst, which works great with lots of the sentiments from Have a Super Day!  The cute Supergirl and the hearts and star die cuts were all made with dies from Have a Super Day.

MCT 78th Edition Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 78th Edition Sneak Peeks!  We have quite an adorable release to share with you this week!  First off is a set that is perfect for me. You're All Write is full of sentiments and two cute pencils stamps and dies that are great for a teacher or anybody who has a student or teacher in their life!

I thought it would be fun to get started on the cards I mail off to my new students right before school starts each year, welcoming them to my class.  This pencil just makes me smile!  I stamped it onto Strathmore Bristol cardstock and colored it with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  To make my cute notebook paper, I trimmed the top with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies.  The sentiment is just one of the great ones from the You're All Write set!

MCT Birthday Palooza

It's Birthday Palooza with My Creative Time!  I feel like there's always somebody's birthday just around the corner, so it's great to build up my stash of birthday cards.  I had fun making this one using one of the Stitched Circle Balloon Dies with some cute patterned paper from Echo Park's Fine and Dandy collection.  It was very easy to make - after layering up the balloons and tying on some twine, I just added a sentiment from Make a Wish!

Butterfly Thanks

My friend gave me a pack of really pretty paper butterflies from Paper Source.  She thought I could find some way to use them, and she was right:  they are perfect for making quick and easy thank you notes.  The butterflies themselves are so striking, I just wanted to make a simple background.  I used the torn paper die from My Creative Time's More Stitched Edges to get my two-toned background.  Then I just added a sentiment from MCT's Hey There Little Lady.  Simple!

Camper Birthday Card

I bought my brother-in-law a gift card to Camping World for his birthday (he and my sister recently got a new RV), and then I found the perfect cut in Cricut Access for his card!  It's from the Simple Pop-Up Cards cartridge.  I added a sentiment on the inside from My Creative Time's The Adventure Begins.

To decorate the outside, I made two layers using MCT's Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies and MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies and then added a die cut from the Cricut Celebrate with Flourish cartridge.  I think he'll like this card.  The pop-ups are really fun!

MCT Made in Minutes

It's Made in Minutes with my Creative Time!  I needed to make some thank you notes, and this was a quick and fun design.  I used the daisy dies from the Daisy Frame Die, and then used the "thanks" die from Thank You & Frame Dies, laying it on top of my die cut daisies to get an inlay look.  I love this effect!
