MCT Tag It Tuesday

It's Tag It Tuesday with My Creative Time!  As summer vacation is quickly approaching (three more weeks of school for me!), I thought it would be fun to make a cute little tag that could be attached to an end-of-the-year gift for one of my colleagues!  I used the Chunky Stitched Tag Dies for my tag base and then the wave edge die from You're a Great Catch to make my water.  The cute little whale is from Get Whale Soon, and I used heart dies from Kindness for his "water spout."  Finally, I used a sentiment from You're All Write to finish off this tag.  Wow, that was a lot of different sets for a little piece!

MCT 79th Edition "7 Year Anniversary" Release Blog Hop!

Welcome to the My Creative Time 79th Edition Release Blog Hop!  This is Emma's 7 Year Anniversary!  It's hard to believe we've been enjoying her fabulous stamps and dies for that long!

You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica.  If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

For my project today, I took the new Circle Border Die and used it to trim the edge of my black card base.  I thought it would be fun to fill in the circles with pops of color, and I was able to do that using the large single circle die included in the set to make the circles that I adhered behind the small circular openings.  For the larger circular openings, I used a die from You Are Spot On.  To make the border really pop (and to give myself a place to write a message), I lined the inside of the card with a piece of white cardstock.

Next I heat embossed my sentiment, from the Script Words stamp set, with white embossing powder.  That adorable cake was made with the Baby Cake Die, our freebie this month (more info on that below).

MCT 79th Edition Release Sneak Peek #4

MCT 79th Edition Release Sneak Peek #3

We've got another sneak peek of the My Creative Time 79th Edition release for you!  Today we are sneaking two new sets!  Cake Die is an adorable new die set that has a huge fun cake with all of the trimmings!  And Time to Celebrate is a fabulous birthday sentiment set with stamps for the inside and outside of your cards!

I just love the large size of this Cake Die!  I embossed the main green piece with the Cuttlebug Spots & Dots embossing folder to give it a textured fondant look.  Behind the cake, I inked up my card base with a bit of Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass.  To make a little "table" for my cake to sit on and my sentiment, from Time to Celebrate, to be stamped upon, I trimmed a piece of white cardstock with one of the More Stitched Edges Dies.

MCT 79th Edition Release Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of the My Creative Time 79th Edition Release sneak peeks?  Today we have another fabulous new border die today, and it's a cutie:  Circle Border Die!

I used the die on my black card base.  I thought it was perfect for my soccer themed card!  In fact, I discovered that one of the circle dies from You Are Spot On makes the perfect sized circle to adhere to the back of this border, which allowed me to stamp the cute little soccer ball there!  The soccer ball, along with the "soccer" sentiment and the soccer player stamp are all from the Soccer stamp set.  This is a retired MCT set, but there are a few more in the store, so you can get them now until the stock runs out (and they are on sale)!  I made the star with one of the 3 Star Stitched Dies and the "Wish Big" sentiment is from Wow!  So Many Candles.  I think my soccer-loving student should like his birthday card!

MCT 79th Edition Release Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 79th Edition Sneak Peeks!  We have quite an adorable release to share with you this week!  First off is the sweet Flower Border Die.  This is the perfect way to dress up your cards!

Since Mother's Day was yesterday (Happy Belated Mother's Day to all you moms out there), I used this cute new set to make a card for my mom!  I lined the border die up with the edge of my green card base, and that cut out all of the connected flowers.  This set comes with a flower layer, which I cut in white, and the little circles, which I cut in yellow.  I then die cut "MOM" in black and white using the Pretty Bold Letter Dies.  I thought the card needed a little something else, and I found a smaller flower in the Thank You Mom set that mimics the flowers in the border.  It would be fun to use this same layout to make personalized notecards!

MCT Whatever Wednesday

It's Whatever Wednesday with My Creative Time! Today I made a fun birthday card for a friend using a couple of the latest MCT releases.  The awesome Supergirl and sentiments are from Have a Super Day! and the fun starburst shape is from Super Tag Dies.  I found an Earth cut in Cricut Design Space for my Supergirl to stand on.  For the background, I made a stencil with the cloud edge die from More Stitched Edges and a piece of clear cardstock and then used it to ink up with some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Stormy Sky.

Gymnastics Birthday Card for a Boy

A boy in my class is a really talented competitive gymnast and the pommel horse is one of his best events.  This cut from the Silhouette Design Store was perfect for his card.  I made a background by using one of My Creative Times Stitched Rectangular Dies with some Strathmore Watercolor Paper and then gave it a splash of watercolor with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I then die cut one of MCT's Fun Speech Bubbles and heat embossed a sentiment from MCT's Make a Wish on top of it. The little star die cuts were made from dies from Make a Wish as well.

I'm in love with this polka dot stencil!!!  I used it to ink up some Strathmore Bristol cardstock with Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Cracked Pistachio, Tumbled Glass, Peacock Feathers, and Blueprint Sketch, and then die cut this piece with one of the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies.  I then die cut the adorable sun, stamping it with the face from the stamp set, and "sunshine," one of the two word dies in the set.  "Happy birthday," which I heat embossed onto some black cardstock, is also part of the stamp set.
