Rewind: Scene Card

Today is the day I am hopefully coming home from the hospital, and it's my birthday!  I'm hoping my present is that I'm feeling much better and as calm as the scene below.

This is the first card that I made with the Cricut Circle French Manor cartridge, back in July of 2010. I was excited to see the exact chair from my parents' dining room set. I immediately cut it out, but then had no idea what to do with it. Luckily, I finally came up with something! Because of the size of the chair, I ended up making a pretty big card (7 3/4" x 5 1/2") that fits in an old unused Christmas card envelope.

Recipe:
(all materials Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise specified)

Cricut Cartridges: French Manor (table and chair), Walk in My Garden (vase and tulips), and A Child's Year (teacup)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select White, Vintage Cream, Dark Chocolate, New Leaf, and Plum Pudding
Patterned Paper: scraps from various DCWV stacks
Ink: Chai, Dark Chocolate, and Plum Pudding
Stamp Set: Tea for Two
Recollections Brads
Tea for Two Collection Die
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder for the beadboard

Rewind: Kindergarten Mini Album

I'm heading in for some major surgery on my inner ear this morning.  I'll have a few days in the hospital and then at least two weeks at home.  I'm really hoping I'm up to crafting soon, but in the meantime, I've created some "rewind" posts for you of some favorite past projects.

This is a kindergarten mini album that I made for my niece for Christmas in 2010.

Here are all of the pictures of the inside. I used so many different Cricut cartridges and papers that I gave up trying to keep track of them all.

I've only made a couple of mini albums, and this is inspiring me to make another one soon.  I forgot how fun it was!

Quick Easter Card

Last year I saw some of these cards made by other bloggers, and I just loved the idea!  It totally fits my brother's sense of humor, so I had to make him one.  I kept it really simple.  It's an A2 sized card.  The blue patterned background is from the DCWV Baby Boy Stack, but I can't find that anywhere online!  The grass is from the DCWV Flower Shower Spring Stack, and I cut it with the Martha Stewart Icicle Punch.

My bunnies are cut at 2.41" and 3" from the Cricut Easter 2010 cartridge.  I ran them through my Cuttlebug with the Papertrey Ink Buttoned Up #2 Die to make the bites out of them.  The speech balloons are cut at 0.29" and 0.35" from the Cricut Smiley Cards cartridge.  I stamped the letters using the Papertrey Ink Simple Alphabet stamp set.

Basketball Coach's Gift Card Holder

Here's a really simple gift card holder that I made for Eric's basketball coaches.  Things are a little crazy around here, so I was very happy to have the My Creative Time Embossed Gift Card Holder die to whip up three of these quickly!

I took a 2 1/4" x 3 1/4" piece of patterned paper from the Teresa Collins Sports Edition II collection.  On top of it I heat embossed with black embossing powder "Slam Dunk!" and the basketball image from the My Creative Time Slam Dunk stamp set.  I love how the orange Copic marker on the basketball image still lets the writing show through.  The black layer underneath is 2 1/2" x 3 1/2".

"Thanks for a great season!" is from My Creative Time's Sport Sentiments stamp set.  This is a must-have set if you have athletes in your life!

The "From" on the inside is from My Creative Time's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set.  The perfect little packaging for a Sports Authority gift card!

Birthday Card & a Winner!

Before we get started today, I want to announce the winner of the adorable 6x6 Echo Park This & That:  Graceful paper pack, from the My Creative Time March Stamp Release Blog Hop:
DebC said...  Cute invitation! I love these little shrinky dinks I have to get me some to play with and make something for our little grand daughters. This is sweet.

Congrats, Deb!  I've sent an email out to you to get your address!  And the rest of you should be sure to stop by My Creative Time to see if you were one of the other winners!

Today I'm sharing a birthday card that I made for my principal.  Since she is 50 weeks younger than me (note:  that is NOT a year, LOL), I'm allowed to tease her about her age.  My cream card base is 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".  The brown is 5 1/4" x 4", and the striped patterned paper, from Papertrey Ink, is 5" x 3 3/4".

I used the Papertrey Ink Movers & Shakers:  Zipper die and the Movers & Shakers Sentiments stamp set for my sentiment.

When she pulls back the zipper, this sentiment will be revealed.

The adorable kite and clouds are from the Silhouette Online Store.  I used some pretty My Mind's Eye patterned paper for the kite and then attached some twine with Glossy Accents to create the string.

Here's a peek at the inside.
