MCT "To Die For"

It's To Die For with My Creative Time today - a day to play with some of the wonderful MCT dies!  I just love the new Cute Gift Tag Die!  It has this adorable present layer.  I used it full size to make my gift on the left.  For the other two gifts, I first made the gifts as usual, but then, I ran the gifts through my Vagabond a second time, using the die to cut off a corner of them to make them smaller.  I just trimmed off the tops of the ribbons with scissors and then kept the bows as they were.  So easy, and it gives them a fun new look!

"Celebrate" was made with one of the Let's Party Word Dies.  I thought the card needed one more thing, so I stamped the corner of it with the firework from Huge Celebration.

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog for some more fun with dies!

MCT 71st Edition Release Blog Hop & Sale

Welcome to the My Creative Time 71st Edition Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica.  If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

For my tag today I used the adorable new Pocketful of Holidays and Pocketful of Holidays Sentiments.  I just love that cute little snowman peeking out of his pocket!  I heat embossed the stitching on the pocket with white embossing powder to make it really pop.  Then I did the same with the sentiment, from Pocketful of Holidays Sentiments.

For the tag itself, I used the MCT Tag Dies and Tag Die Layers.  I think these will also be my go-to dies for oversized tags!

Here's a closer look at Pocketful of Holidays and Pocketful of Holidays Sentiments.  They are available now in the My Creative Time Store

It's our last day of the My Creative Time 71st Edition sneak peeks!  Tomorrow is the day you can finally see this awesome release in its entirety and get shopping!  But first, we have three last die sets for you to get a glimpse of today. These three die sets make the cutest holiday tags!  You'll love them!  And second, is our freebie for this month, Mini Christmas Greetings.  This one is a set of eleven sentiments that work great with the tags or with other projects!  Mini Christmas Greetings will be given free to our first 75 shoppers beginning at 8 AM PST this Friday!

For my first project, I used the Cute Gift Tag Die to make a birthday tag!  Isn't this the cutest?  This die set comes with four dies:  the mini tag card, the present layer, and the two parts of the bows.

Here's how it looks opened up - you can write a little message to the recipient inside!

Next I made some holiday tags using the Stocking Tag Die and the Santa Hat Die.  Again, each die set comes with the layers to customize the front part of your tag.  This time, I used the Mini Christmas Greetings stamp set to add sentiments as well.  Love these!

MCT 71st Edition Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 71st Edition Sneak Peeks!  I'm just loving this release, and I think you will too!  Today we are showcasing the new Pocketful of Holidays and Pocketful of Holidays Sentiments sets!

For my project, I die cut three of the adorable little pockets.  As you can see, there are two different designs to stamp onto it.  I heat embossed the design in white on the purple pockets.  Those cute little witch's boots are also part of this set!  There are actually 4 different images that have stamps and dies that you can use with the pockets that are included in Pocketful of Holidays, with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas themes.  Of course, you probably have lots of other images in your stamp collection that will also work great with this set.  The sentiment I used is from Pocketful of Holidays Sentiments.  This set includes 8 fabulous sentiments to coordinate with the images.  So fun!

MCT Thoughtful Thursday

It's Thoughtful Thursday with My Creative Time, a day to make a card for somebody to let them know that you are thinking of them.  Sadly, I needed to make a sympathy card for somebody special to me, but the beautiful new Build a Fall Wreath set helped me to make a really pretty one.  I started by die cutting a bunch of the leaves from this set, stamping them in all different fall colors. I have lots left over for future projects.  I then used the largest dies from Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies & More and MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies to die cut my white and woodgrain background rectangles.  To get a nice circle for my wreath, I traced one of the Bunch of Fun Circle Dies.  Then it was easy to glue down the leaves along that circle.

Finally, I heat embossed a sentiment, from My Thoughts are With You, on a piece of cardstock that I trimmed with one of the More Stitched Edges Dies and adhered that down.

Banner Birthday Card

I was inspired by a card made my Shari Carroll to make this fun birthday card today.  I found a scrap of fun patterned paper and cut it using one of the My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies.  I cut a piece of white cardstock with this same die, also trimming it with one of the MCT More Stitched Edges Dies.  On this piece, I stamped a sentiment from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Style Stamp Set.  All of the little tags were made with PTI's Tiny Tag Dies and Tiny Tags and Tiny Tags II stamp sets.

MCT 3D Wednesday

It's 3D Wednesday with My Creative Time, and over the holiday weekend I finally had some time to play with the new release!  I couldn't wait to use the Stitched Bat Die!  Paired with the Stitched Square Box Die, he made a super cute treat box!  I inked his eyes and mouth, from Bat Sentiments, with Versafine Black Onyx Ink, and then heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  It's nice and shiny in real life.  Both of the sentiments are from Bat Sentiments.  I used one of the Vintage Stitched Label Dies for "Open if You Dare," and circle dies from You Are Spot On for "Just for You!"

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog for more 3D inspiration!

Fox Birthday

Back to school means back to making birthday cards for me!  Just like last year (maybe because I looped with 9 of my kids, going from 3rd to a 3/4), a lot of their birthdays fall in the first part of the school year.  We had 2 last week and we'll have another this week!  I made this one for a boy last week. I thought this fox cut from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge was so cute!  I paired him with a balloon made with the My Creative Time Stitched Circle Balloon Dies.

For the background, I used the one of the MCT Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies with a scrap of patterned paper.  I then used one of MCT's More Stitched Edges Dies on some Rustic White Cardstock to make my sentiment strip.  The sentiment strip is from MCT's Wow So Many Candles stamp set.

For the first time, My Creative Time is offering a brand new KIT!  Frightful Greetings consists of a stamp set with a coordinating die, along with a coordinating stencil!  Yes, a STENCIL!  We are so excited to share this EXCLUSIVE kit with all of you!  Now since it is exclusive, once the kits sell out, they are gone forever.

For my project today, I made a treat sleeve using the existing Stitched Treat Sleeve Die and then used the stencil from the kit to ink up that pretty fall pumpkin and swirl pattern.  I added a couple of pieces of patterned paper to the top and bottom, which I trimmed with one of the existing More Stitched Edges dies.  I made that cute little skeleton that is peeking out of the sleeve with a stamp and die from the kit!  The sentiment is also from the kit, and I stamped it onto a die cut I made with the existing Small Treat Label Dies.

Here is a closer look at Frightful Greetings:
