MCT Thoughtful Tuesday

It's Thoughtful Tuesday with My Creative Time!  I wanted to make a thank you note for a friend, and I felt the need to pull out the Mad for Plaid stamp set.  I had some fun creating my background using Hero Arts Shadow Inks in Green Hills, Red Royal, Bubble Gum, and Cup O' Joe, and I trimmed it with one of the MORE Stitched Rectangular Dies.   I then die cut a little grounding spot for my sentiment, using the die from Chalkboard Valentines.  The sentiment is from Just Brew It, and I also die cut and stamped the adorable coffee cup from that set, coloring it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens.  The sweet little hearts were made with dies from the 4x4 Journal Die + More set.

MCT Whatever Wednesday

It's Whatever Wednesday with My Creative Time, a day to pull out your MCT products and make whatever strikes your fancy!  We've had such warm weather lately that there are lots of flowers blooming.  I thought it would be fun to use the pretty flower dies from Thank You Mom and "plant" them in the darling boot from Make a Splash.  The sentiment, which I heat embossed onto my background die cut with one of the Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies, is also from Make a Splash.

Special Thank You

One of my students that I'm teaching for the second year this year has been very interested in my Cricut.  She and her mom recently got one, and she made me the cutest mug, seen below, for Valentine's Day!  I just love it, and I wanted to make her a special thank you note.  I looked through Cricut Design Space until I found the heart she used.  It's from the Folk Art Festival cartridge.  I adhered it to a square that I die cut using one of the My Creative Time Stitched Squares Inside & Out.  For the sentiment, I die cut "thank you" from MCT's Thank You & Frame Dies three times, adhering them together to give it lots of dimension.

MCT 76th Edition Blog Hop & Release

Welcome to the My Creative Time 76th Edition Release Blog Hop!  You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica.  If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop.  This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!

For my project today, I made a fun little egg shaped card highlighting the sweet new I'll Never Let You Go set.  I stamped the adorable hugging bunnies and the sentiment onto Strathmore Watercolor cardstock and then watercolored around them using my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a water brush.  I was going to watercolor the bunnies too, but once I had added the grass and sky, I actually really liked how they popped in white, so I left it at that!  All that was left to do was to die cut this with an egg die from the Scalloped Egg Dies set, and then I used one of the scalloped dies to cut patterned paper for the background and to make my card base.

MCT 76th Edition Sneak Peek #3

It's our last day of the My Creative Time 76th Edition sneak peeks!  Tomorrow is the day you can finally see this awesome release in its entirety and get shopping!  But first, we have one last die set for you to get a peek at.  You're going to love the new Chunky Tag Dies!  There are 3 stitched and 3 plain tag dies of all sizes that are so fun to layer or use separately!

I used the two smallest dies to make the tags on the Valentine treats that I gave to my students yesterday.  These tags don't have holes, which I love, because you can punch your own, or do something else with them.  I adhered mine together and then attached a little Imaginisce Glam Rock at the top to give the look of a brad.  The sentiment I used is from the I Adore You Kit.  It actually says "Happy heart day," but I cut it apart to fit on the tag and replaced the word "heart" with an actual heart die cut made with one of the dies from 4x4 Journal Die + More.  I used another  heart die from that set for my signature on the red tag. To make the actual treat holder itself, I used the fun matchbox die from The Perfect Match.

MCT 76th Edition Sneak Peek #2

Are you ready for another day of My Creative Time sneak peeks?  Today we are sneaking a sweet new die set, Cute Stitched Egg Tag, and this month's freebie, which coordinates with it:  Egg Decorations!  Egg Decorations is a fun set with 2 pattern stamps to decorate the egg tag and a sentiment too!  It is free with your order this Friday if you are one of the first 50 shoppers, beginning at 8 AM PST.

I just love the My Creative Time tag die collection, and this egg one will definitely be getting a lot of use this Easter!  It's so quick and easy to put together a cute tag!  I just cut the main layer in cream cardstock, the front egg layer in kraft, and the smaller egg layer in light blue.  I stamped the polka dots from Egg Decorations with Verasmark Dazzle Champagne Ink.  That cute little bunny was made with one of the Mini Bunny Dies, another must have for Easter!

MCT 76th Edition Sneak Peek #1

It's day 1 of My Creative Time's 76th Edition Sneak Peeks!  We have quite an adorable release to share with you this week!  First off is I'll Never Let You Go.  This set contains two of the sweetest bunny stamps and a whimsical heart, all with coordinating dies.  There are also lots of fun sentiments! 

 For my card today I stamped one of the bunny stamps onto Strathmore Watercolor paper and used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens and a water brush to watercolor it.  Then I took one of the sweet sentiments and stamped it onto a banner made with one of the Sentiment Label Dies.  I used the Scalloped Stitched Square Dies to make my card base.  For an added touch, I die cut a couple of flowers using dies from Thank You Mom and Stitched Pretty Flowers and Leaves Dies.  I think I'll be reaching for this new set a lot!  I'm in love with these bunnies!

Gymnast Birthday Card

One of my students celebrated her birthday this week, and since she is a competitive gymnast, I thought this cut from the Silhouette Design Store would be perfect for her card!  I placed the gymnast on top of "HAPPY," made with the My Creative Time Uppercase Fun Dies.  The "birthday" stamp is from MCT's Happy Everything.

My background was inspired by a card I saw made by Laura Bassen. I ink blended Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Festive Berries and Mustard Seed onto watercolor paper and added some water droplets.  I also added droplets of those same two colors of ink that I created by mixing a bit of the ink with water.  I finished off the card with a few Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear Sequins.

MCT Weird Holiday

It's time to celebrate a "weird holiday" with My Creative Time!  Did you know that February 7th is "Send a Card to a Friend Day"?  Neither did I!  But, it's always fun to send a card to a friend, and My Creative Time has lots of sets to help you do just that!  I found the perfect sentiment in the brand new Happy Rainy Day Kit!  Of course, I had to use the cute die cuts of the girl with the umbrella and the little heart from the kit as well.  The raindrops were made with dies from You Are My Sunshine.  I adhered all of these pieces to a background cut with the largest of the Stitched Postage Frame Dies.

I had so much fun creating a stormy scene on my card today using the stencil from the kit!  I started by using a "smooshing technique," smooshing Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Stormy Sky and Broken China on a piece of acetate, spritzing it with water, and then pressing that down onto a piece of Strathmore Bristol Cardstock.  After drying that with my heat tool, I used the stencil and the Stormy Sky ink with an ink blending tool to add on the clouds and raindrops.  I love how this turned out!

  To give the card a big pop of color, I ink blended more Strathmore Bristol Cardstock with Picked Raspberry and Wild Honey distress inks and then die cut the cute girl from the kit.  I used one of  the heart dies with some of the extra inked paper while I was at it.  The sentiment, one of 12 fabulous options from the kit, was stamped on a die cut made with one of the Fun Stitched Tag Dies.
