My Pink Stamper Design Team Winter Project

Hi, everybody! Today I have a card that I created as a design team project for My Pink Stamper. I tried something new with this one, and I'm really happy with how it turned out. First, I have to tell you that I have absolutely no experience with real sewing (I once had to resort to having one of my third graders sew a button on my coat for me. In my defense, she was taking sewing lessons and offered to do it). However, I really like the look of stitching on cards, so I bought a Janome Sew Mini a few months back. There are some great Youtube videos explaining how to use it on paper specifically, and it's really not too difficult!

This is a 6" square card. The card itself is a 12" x 6" piece of Core'dinations cardstock, scored at 6". I then added a layer of Papertrey Ink Kraft cardstock, cut at 5 3/4" x 5 3/4". The next layer is a 5 1/2" square piece of PTI Dark Chocolate cardstock, and here is where the fun began. I cut 25 one inch squares from AC Patterned Paper and arranged them in an alternating pattern on the Dark Chocolate cardstock. I attached them with just a little adhesive in the center of each square, so as not to get adhesive on the sewing machine needle. I then sewed between each row and column. Before adhering this "quilt" to the Kraft cardstock, I wrapped it in some PTI Rustic Jute Button Twine.

The cute old-fashioned snowmen are from the Winter Woodland Cricut Cartridge, cut at 4" from Core'dinations Cardstock. I also used my ekSuccess ticket punch for the sentiment from My Pink Stamper's Winter Punnies stamp set (click here to see where to get yours). Don't you just love it? It's stamped in PTI Dark Chocolate ink and is topped with a PTI button.
