Teapot Everyday Pop-Up Card

Here's another card from the Cricut Everyday Pop-Up Cards cartridge. Now, I have to say that I put together these cards how I think they should work, but for all I know, I could be totally wrong. This teapot card was a request by Lorraine of Card Creations by Lorraine. :-)

For the front of my card, I created my own patterned paper by stamping teacups from Papertrey Ink's "Tea For Two Additions" Stamp Set. The teapot is cut at 2.41" (I used my Gypsy). I cut the two main layers and the shadow, but I used my Gypsy to hide the marks on the top layer that show where to put the flowers. I did this because I had decided not to use the flower layers, but to use some Primas instead.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time's "Just a Little Note to Say..." stamp set. Click here for ordering information for this sweet set.

Now for the inside! The pop-up has two pieces: the teapot and the teacup. I decided I wanted these to be different colors, so I cut it twice at 3.5". Since I was using my Gyspy, I was able to "hide" the one I didn't want each time. I cut my teapot pop-up in brown and the teacup in the polka-dotted paper. Using my Gypsy, I was able to figure out that my striped layer size on the teapot should be 2.25". Now, the teacup has a strip attached to it that just slides through the teapot. Here's what it looks like from the back.

What I did was use a craft knife to cut a slit in the patterned layer that matches the slit in the teapot pop-up. I slipped the teacup strip through both layers on the left, but I only had it come through the brown layer on the right. I then adhered the two layers together, so the strip is in between the two layers on the right, and not poking through. I hope that makes sense.
