"Grunge" Thank You Card

One of my former third graders, who is now a junior in high school, gave me a really sweet gift the other day.  I made this card for her thank you note.  It was pretty easy to make, and I think she'll like the bright colors and the "grunge" look.  I started by cutting a piece of white cardstock at 5 1/2" x 3 3/4", distressing the edges with my Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, and stamping all over it with the stamps from the Papertrey Ink Grunge Me stamp set.  On top of that, I glued the "thanks" that I had cut from the Cricut Don Juan cartridge (sorry I don't have the size - my poor Gypsy died yesterday).

To get my pink layer just the right size, I first cut my cardstock 5 1/2" wide and trimmed one end with my ekSuccess Bumpy Roads border punch.  Then I was able to trim it to 5 1/2" x 4".  The turquoise layer is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", scored at 4 1/4".
