Girly Birthday Gift Bag

Yeah!  It's Friday!  I'm so happy to have this long week over with.  Teaching and then having parent-teacher conferences every afternoon has wiped me out!  Tomorrow will be a fun day, though.  We are finally celebrating the summer birthdays in my family.  Yes, I know it's October, but it's hard to coordinate everybody's schedule with a big family!

Today I'm sharing a gift bag I made for my sister.  I got her a present at Ann Taylor.  Can you guess what it is?  The gift tag is a clue.  I decided to repurpose the shopping bag, since it was easy to cover up the writing that was only at the bottom of the bag.  I cut strips of hot pink cardstock 2" wide, and trimmed them with a border punch.  Then I added 1" strips of black cardstock on top of those and trimmed the strips to fit around the entire bag.

Before adhering the black strip to the pink on the front of the bag, I heat embossed this sentiment from My Creative Time's Polka Dot "Surprise" stamp set.

My gift tag was made with the Forever Young Cricut cartridge, cut at 3 1/2".  Instead of using the flower layer, I cut three 1 3/4" daisies from Flower Shoppe and adhered them and a button with some twine to the purse.

I hope you all have a GREAT weekend!
