Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge


It's the Papertrey Ink January Blog Hop!  For this month, we've been asked to post our favorite project of 2011 and then create a new project that was inspired by the first!


My favorite project that I created last year with my Papertrey Ink goodies is this birthday card I made for my mom.  I was so excited when Background Basics:  Newsprint came out with my mom's birthday  (March 10th) built right into it!  I also love this card for the bright cheery colors and the fun flowers.  You can see more details about it in my original post.


For my new project, I carried over the colors, background stamp and flower theme to create a birthday tag using the Tag Sale #3 Die.


I mixed it up with the flowers this time using felt and real buttons.


I just love this sentiment from Birthday Bash Sentiments, especially how it pops with the white embossing on royal velvet cardstock.

    Both of these cards are sooo super BEAUTIFUL! I LOVE the background paper and how great is it to have your Mom's b~day on it! The colors are sooo bright and cheerful! Now I have to look at that background stamp and tag die! ENEABLER! LOL!

    I keep forgetting to tell you I LOVE how you added the material pictures at the bottom of your blog! You are ALWAYS so helpful! Great inspiration!

    The newspaper background looks great on both your card and tag. Love the bright flowers against the Kraft card stock. So sweet.

    Katie, you're enabling me!! I just ordered from PTI and my cart is already full again!

    I love the card you made for your mom. The color palette is perfect and I have yet to use my BB Newsprint, but I will soon.

    I can see why this card from 2011 is a favorite and inspired the tag project! Both are just adorable. I think I may have to incorporate the bb:newsprint for a few b'day cards for my stash. Thanks for the inspiration!
