Camping Note Cards

Last week, my dad, two brothers, and brother-in-law took Eric and some of my nieces and nephews on a camping trip.  This is something Eric looks forward to every year, so I wanted to make little note cards so that I could write to them and let them know how much we appreciate their taking this on every year.

Once I have a design in mind, it's very quick to make multiples of a card.  I began by cutting 8 1/2" x 4 1/4" bases out of kraft cardstock and scoring them at 4 1/4".  I then stamped these footprints across the bottom of the inside of each card.  All of the stamps I used on the cards are from Papertrey Ink's Summer Camp stamp set.

The camping trip was up in the Sierras by some lakes, so this patterned paper that I found in the 8 x 8 October Afternoon Campfire paper pack was just perfect!  I cut it into four 4" squares, and also cut four 3/4"x 4 1/4" polka dotted paper strips from this same paper pack.  I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.

Next I die cut some kraft circles with PTI's Limitless Layers 1 3/4" Circle Die Collection and stamped them with the "Adventure & Explore" image.  For the "happy camper" elements, I stamped the frames and sentiments onto cardstock, used my paper trimmer to cut a rectangular shape around them, and then used my Corner Chomper to round the corners.

Before adhering everything together, I did a little sewing down the polka dotted strip.  Each card is slightly different, since the image on the patterned paper is different.  That determined where I placed the elements.
