Quilted Autumn Greetings

For some reason this weekend I got it in my mind to make a quilt design on a card, so I googled "quilt" and came across a picture of a friendship quilt square.  It was very easy to replicate with paper.  I cut a cream card base at 4 1/4" square and a green gingham layer at 4" square.  I then cut nine 1 1/4" squares:  1 flower pattern, 4 of the orange pattern, and 4 of the teal pattern.  I cut the orange and teal squares at a diagonal to make triangles, and then I was able to piece together my "quilt."

The sweet little leaf and greeting were made with My Creative Time's Piles of Smiles stamp and die set.  I used one of the Teeny Tag Greetings dies for the sentiment.

Today is "Show Me Your Technique" on My Creative Time!  Three of my very talented design team sisters have fun tutorials to share with you.  Check it out!

  5. You know I would like this one for sure. Quilting blocks always make good looking cards with the right papers. I like how the green frames everything and repeats in the cute leaf :D Great card.

  7. Katie, your inspiration is fantastic! I have indeed had a go at this card myself, giving it a Christmassy tinge rather than autumn. I've posted it on my blog if you get a chance to have a look...
