Some Birthday Gift Card Holders

We have a lot of summer birthdays in my family, and over the weekend we had a big party celebrating all of them.  Some of my gifts included gift cards, so I quickly whipped up a couple of gift card holders using My Creative Time's Embossed Gift Card Holder Die.  For this one, I used a pretty piece of paper from Echo Park.

This adorable cupcake was made using the cupcake die from MCT's Celebrate Good Times.  Since I wanted to pop this shape up, but the pieces are all separate, I traced the combined image onto a piece of cardstock to cut and use as a base for the three sections.  Then I dressed up the frosting with some pretty Melissa Frances Pearls that I got from Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.

The sentiment is from MCT's Gift Card Sentiments stamp set, and I used some Versamark ink and white embossing powder to make it show up on the brown background.

This one was for my brother-in-law, who is a musician.  I used paper from the My Mind's Eye Haunted collection, which has some great prints on kraft that can be used for non-Halloween projects.  For a more masculine font, I used a sentiment from the MCT Card Sentiments stamp set.  These all fit perfectly onto the gift card holder die!  My cute little musician is cut at 3 1/2" from the Cricut Everyday Paper Doll cartridge, and his face is stamped with a face from the Peachy Keen Retro Paper Doll Faces.
