MCT Scrapping the Little Things

It's Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time today, which means we are pulling out our Project Life, SmashBooks, or scrapbooks!  My son Eric has developed an interest in photography this year, and he entered a high school photography contest sponsored by Drexel University.  We were thrilled when we heard he was one of the students chosen to exhibit, so we decided to fly back to Philadelphia for the opening reception and exhibit.  I went to college in Philly, so it was a good time to catch up with some old friends too!

Since my title card has a picture of us on the plane, I used some fun airplane paper from Echo Park's Scoot for the background.  I used a circle punch to make an area to highlight my wood veneer plane.  For the title, I die cut banners from My Creative Time's Vintage Stitched Label Dies and stamped the letters from MCT's Just Simply Live.

On this card, I wanted to add some ephemera.  I took one of the cards from the Project Life Seafoam Edition and attached a fact sheet from the exhibit.  I also cut out Drexel's logo from a postcard we had, mounted it on white cardstock, and added a "washi tape" style Simple Stories sticker.  The new MCT Fun Tickets stamps and dies are perfect for Project Life, so I just had to use the "It's Your Day" ticket on here.  Lastly, I die cut the little sunburst shape from the MCT Build a Banner Kit and topped it with another sticker from Simple Stories.

The banner die from MCT's Chocolate Greetings was a great way to add some color and fun to a Project Life journaling card!

I love your layout! I love it more because I'm a Drexel alumna! How very neat that he was chosen to be a part of that contest. Drexel's a great school. Very proud Pennsylvanian over here although I'm currently living in CA. I miss those WAWA's. We don't have any over here. :o(

  8. How cool your layout is! How cool that you son won! And how cool you went to college in Philly! You were kinda' in my neck of the woods. We live in Gettysburg, but my son is thinking about a college in Philly. Of course he would love to go to Gettysburg College but we'd never be able to afford it. lol Great layout and great story!! Congrats to you son!
