Bookmarks for Third Graders!

It's Inspiration Tuesday with My Creative Time today, and I'm sharing a bookmark that I made for one of my students.  I'm going to have a personalized bookmark on each student's desk waiting for them when they walk into the classroom on the first day of school next week.  The one I'm sharing today is for a boy named MJ, whose mom happens to be a friend and also a teacher at my school. She was able to tell me that MJ's favorite baseball team is the SF Giants, which is where I got my color inspiration.

I started by taking a strip of washi tape from the My Mind's Eye Cut & Paste collection and adhering it to some white cardstock.  I then postioned the My Creative Time Tag Die over the cardstock so that the washi strip would end up along the side, and then ran it through the Vagabond (I adhered the washi tape before die cutting so that the stitching of the die cut would make that washi tape nice and secure).  I used the Cuttlebug Bricks embossing folder to emboss the white part of the tag and also cut a thin strip of black cardstock to adhere alongside the washi tape.

To spell out MJ's name, I die cut the black circles using the MCT Build a Banner dies and then heat embossed letters from the Circle Font stamp set.  Since many of the kids have longer names, I will probably use the Label Font stamp set for them.  Good thing I still have another week to make the other 20!

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have to share with you today.

  3. 21 of these to make?? I bet they will all be different. I really like the brick embossing. I will have to look into washi tape but there are so many pretty ones it will be hard to choose just a few. I love the color the washi and ribbon add and how pretty the white embossing on black letters are. Super job.
