MCT 5 Days of Christmas - Day 1

Hello, and welcome to our "5" Days of Christmas!  This week we will be sharing lots of Christmas ideas, such as cards, layouts, home decor, 3D items, and whatever else comes to mind that will let YOU get your juices flowing for the holiday!  There will be a giveaway each day, and the winner will be announced the following day!  You will see the different prizes each day on Emma's blog HERE!  I hope we all inspire you this week!

For my project today, I have a fun Advent calendar that I made with a cut file from the Silhouette Online Store.  I just love how it turned out, and it will definitely be a decoration in my house for years to come.  However, I just have to warn you, if you decide to make one, that it takes a LOT of cardstock!

I designed an internal offset layer for each of the drawers so that I could have a patterned paper layer, using Echo Park's Season's Greetings.  Each drawer has numbers that I cut from the number dies that are included in MCT's Stitched 4x6 Journal Die.   I also used some pretty brads made by Recollections.  For this section, I have a snowman made with the All Around Holiday Dies, a little postmark made from Postcard Add-Ons and stamped on a circle from Build a Banner Kit, a shopping bag from Classy Girl Accessories, and a postage stamp from Postcard Add-Ons.

Here I used a little star button from Stitched Button Dies and mittens from Classy Girl Accessories.  I wanted to add an ornament from Warm Holiday Fun, but they were too big.  Instead I took the ornament hanger from that set, but made my ornament with the stitched circle from Build a Banner Kit.  The little "Joy" tag was made with Chunky Jar Accessories.

The tree is from All Around Holidays, "Noel" is from Postcard Add-Ons, the bell is from Warm Holiday Fun, and I paper pieced the coffee mug from You Are Perk-fect!

Here I have a flower from Stitched Button Dies, a heart from Stitched Layering Hearts, a cocktail pick from Stitched Cocktail Party, and a key from Chunky Jar Accessories.

The present is from All Around Holiday, and the Santa hat is from Classy Girl Accessories.  I made another key from Chunky Jar Accessories, and Santa's boot was made with the Stitched Boot Dies.

Here's another little button (a heart) from Stitched Button Dies, a bell from All Around Holiday, the dog from Classy Girl & Furbaby, and a butterfly from Chunky Jar Accessories.

The topper is part of the tree cut, but I added the numbers.

Here's a peek inside.  The fun thing about this Advent calendar is that the boxes get progressively larger, so Eric is in for bigger treats as the days go by!

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have in store for you!

  23. HOLY COW this turned out truly amazing. I got this Silhouette file last year and haven't been brave enough to try it yet. You've inspired me. If I try it out now maybe I can have it perfected for next year to give to my grandson. Needless to say this file is quite intimidating to me. I haven't perfected all my Silhouette skills yet. LOL
