2014 My Creative Time Design Team!

Happy New Year!  I am so excited to have been asked by Emma to continue on as part of the 2014 My Creative Time Design Team!  I've been with Emma from the beginning, and I can truly say that she is just the sweetest person to work with, and there are no greater stamps and dies around!

Emma has asked us to share a bit about ourselves.  If you already know me, feel free to skip down to my project.

I have a son, Eric, who is a senior in high school.  He is currently in the final stages of college applications and is interested in studying photography.  His photography and technology skills make him quite handy to have around, along with him just being the awesome kid that he is.

We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I teach third grade.  I love my job and my 21 "additional kids."  They definitely keep me busy, but I craft as much as I can in my free time.  I started papercrafting 3 1/2 years ago when I got my first Cricut Expression.  My Vagabond is probably the tool I use the most these days, because it works so well with the My Creative Time dies, followed by my Silhouette Cameo, and then my Cricut E2.  Crafting is definitely my therapy!

Here is one of my projects that I submitted for the design team call.  It is a card I made for my brother-in-law's birthday, which happens to be today!  I made a dark chocolate A2 size card base and then made a hawaiian shores layer using the Fun Stitched Edge Dies.  I just love the fun dimension and pop of color this gives!  The stitched stars were made with the 3 Star Stitched Dies, and the teeny tiny stars were made with dies from the 4x4 Journal Die + More.

This cute little frame (I just love how the inside portion is stitched too) was made with another die from 4x4 Journal Die + More.  The sentiment is from Celebrate Good Times.  I followed a video tutorial by Lauren Bassen to get this cool stamped on layers effect.  If you look at her video, I stamped my sentiment on white cardstock, stamped it on my strips, glued my strips on top of the white, and then ran it through my Vagabond with the frame die so that all of the layers would end up with the stitching.

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see the rest of the talented ladies that make up the 2014 MCT Design Team!  You will be very excited with lots of new inspiration!
