8th Birthday Card

My nephew turned 8 last weekend, and I knew the My Creative Time Surprise Pop-Out Card Die would be perfect for making a fun interactive card for him!  I used the die to cut the card base out of Papertrey Ink orange zest cardstock and then ran the right side of the die through my Vagabond again with some fun chevron paper from the Echo Park All About a Boy collection to give it a layer.  Then I used a die from the MCT Stitched Party Dies to make a cute balloon for the left side of the card.

This cute little birdie is cut at 1.88" from the Cricut Birthday Bash cartridge.  I used him on this card because I knew he would work perfectly with what I was going to do on the inside of the card.  Instead of cutting out eyes for him, I used some Imaginisce Glam Rocks.  To get my sentiment, I mixed and matched parts of sentiments from a few different MCT stamp sets:  the 8 and exclamation point are from Just Simply Live, "is" is from Mom you Rock, and "great" is from So Grateful for You.  I just used washi tape to cover up the part of each sentiment that I didn't want before inking up, and then removed the washi tape before stamping.

Here's what happens when you pull open the card.  I love how that panel swings around!

I used the inner oval dies that come with the Surprise Pop-Out Card Die to get some more color on this panel.  Now you can see why I wanted that Cricut cut of the bird holding the envelope.  Here's the little envelope again, but this time it's made with the MCT Mini Stitched Envelope Die!  How cute is that???  I used a brilliant idea from my design team sister Kim and used the smaller die from the MCT Square Stitched Goody Dies to make a little "letter" for the inside, stamping it with a sentiment from MCT's Once Upon a Time.

I'm just loving playing with this new My Creative Time release!
