MCT Scrapping the Little Things

Happy Monday!  It's Scrapping the Little Things with My Creative Time, and I actually have a 12x12 layout for you today!  A few weeks ago, I was cleaning out a drawer when I came across a note my son Eric had written to the tooth fairy back when he was seven.  He accidentally swallowed his tooth when it came out and was very worried that the tooth fairy would not visit him.  I suggested he write a note to put under his pillow instead of a tooth.  Luckily for me, the tooth fairy left the note when she left the money, so I was able to scrap it!

My patterned paper on this layout is from two different Simple Stories collections:  Yearography and Urban Traveler.  To give my title a whimsical feel, I machine stitched a wavy line onto my background paper, and then lined up my letters, made with the My Creative Time Lowercase Fun Dies, just above it.  Then I used the arrow from the Stitched "Capture" Frame with Arrow Dies to point toward the photo.

I cut out a bunch of hexagons using the Stitched Hexy Dies to create my own fun strip of "patterned paper."  The little label die from Chunky Jar Accessories was the perfect size for the date, stamped with numbers from Just Simply Live.  I also used the "Seriously" sentiment from Just Simply Live on a tab made with the Stitched Tab Die off to the side of the picture.  To make a really long banner that would fit my sentiment from Treasured Moments that is below the picture, I used the banner die from Chocolate Greetings and followed the same technique that I shared in my video for my Trifold Gift Card Holder (fast forward to 12:30).

The cute little "Viewmaster" was made with the What a View! Stitched Die, and I stamped the perfect sentiment from All Around Everything upon it.  The finishing touch was an adorable envelope made with the Mini Stitched Envelope Die, topped with a heart made with a die from 4x4 Journal Die + More.

  1. OMG the best LO ever. I love it and the whole sorted story this happened with my granddaughter too. I love how you scrapped it but the Tooth Fairy didn't leave her note with the money so when I scrapped it I had to just tell the story. I love how you used all of Miss Emma's goodies.
