Fishy Birthday

I made this fun  little 3x4 birthday card for one of my students with some of the new My Creative Time products.  For the base, I used the older 3x4 Stitched Journal Die.  To make my waves, I took the new Make a Splash Die, but since this is a border die, and I didn't want the bottom edge cut, I only had my top cutting plate lay on top of the curvy part of the waves.  By not having it on top of the bottom straight edge, that straight edge did not cut, and I was able to extend it to the length I wanted. Then I ran that piece through the Vagabond again with the 3x4 Stitched Journal Die to make it match up with my card base.

This sentiment is from the new Lost at Sea Stamp Set.  Don't you just love that font?

The fish are also from Lost at Sea.  I colored them with Copic markers and fussy cut them before adhering them down.  To make my fishing pole, I used the leash from the Class Girl & Furbaby Dies, cut a little rectangle of silver paper for bait, and connected the two with sewing thread.
