MCT Inspire Me Wednesday

It's Inspire Me Wednesday with My Creative Time, a day where we take inspiration from somewhere and run with it! Today I made a little birthday card inspired by a card made by one of my favorite bloggers, Laura Bassen.  Laura's card had cute little animals peeking out of windows, and I thought it would be fun to do something similar for my friend who has three cats and three dogs!

To make this card, I started with my brown card base, added a cream layer, and then adhered a strip of yellow polka-dot patterned paper behind where my windows would be.  On this strip I adhered my two dogs, made with the Loyal Friends stamp and die set, and the cat, made with the You Had Me at Meow set.  I added a little heart from 4x4 Journal Die + More to the cat's collar.

Next I trimmed my blue flowered piece of patterned paper down the right side with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies and used one of the Square Stitched Goody Dies to make three windows in it.  I then adhered this to the card base with foam tape.  I die cut one of the Fun Speech Bubbles and stamped a sentiment from You Had Me at Meow onto it, masking off sections at a time to put it onto three lines instead of one.

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have for you today!

  2. I like your choice of pattern papers. I think I like it more than the CAS white card. Great how you used the speech bubble and made the sentiment fit. Great job. Your card is adorable.
