Bikini Twisted Pop-Up Card

It's been a while since I've ordered the Simon Says Stamp Kit of the Month, but I just couldn't resist the July kit!  I made a really fun card using lots of pieces from this kit.  For the front, I used the Simon Audrey Blue and Sunshine cardstocks, along with the adorable patterned paper from Echo Park's Summer Dreams collection.  The sentiment is from Simon's SEA You Soon stamp set, and I stamped it onto a banner made with one of My Creative Time's Sentiment Label Dies.  I also used MCT's More Stitched Rectangular Dies to trim my papers.  The pretty sequins are Simon's Moonshine Confetti.

Now, this is a very unique style of card that I had never tried making before.  I renewed my membership to StampNation for the summer, and I'm enjoying watching all of the tutorials.  This is called a Twisted Pop-Up Card.  I'd love to tell you how I made it, but it's one of those things you really need to watch in action.  Maybe I'll try making a video on one of these too!  In the picture above, you can see the pop-up pieces all folded together inside of the card.  In the picture below, you can see how they explode out of the card when you open it!

To decorate my pop-up pieces, I used the three Simon cardstocks included in the kit:  Audrey Blue, Sunshine, and Doll Pink, along with Papertrey Ink's Simply Chartreuse.  I trimmed each of them with one of the MCT Stitched Square Dies Inside & Out.  Then, using my patterned paper scraps, I made adorable little bikinis using the Simon Bikini Die from the kit!
