5 Days of Christmas - Day 4

Good morning!  You are in a treat this week for our 5 Days of Christmas.  You will see tons of AMAZING ideas, from tags to treats, cards to gift holders, etc., to get your holidays off to a "crafty" good start!  We all hope you enjoy everything you will see this week!

Today the team is making gift card holders, and I thought I'd try something a little different.  I recently got a Cricut Maker, so I've been trying to teach myself how to sew.  I didn't use the Maker for this project, but I did use my sewing machine to make this little drawstring pouch.  Before sewing it together, I used the deer die from All is Calm and "believe" from Holiday Tag Dies to die cut from Cricut iron-on lite and glitter iron-on.  To do this, I used my Vagabond, and place the iron-on material with the liner side up.  This is opposite of what you would do if you were using an electronic die-cut machine, because in that case, you would do a mirror-image of your cut.  Since you can't do that with a wafer- thin die, you have to cut completely through, liner and all, and you don't want to end up with a backwards image.

After I die cut my images, I was able to use my Cricut Easy Press to adhere them to my fabric (an iron would work as well).

Now I've got a cute little pouch that can be filled with a gift card, along with some little treats!

*** Giveaway ***

Emma will be giving away a $25 gift card to the My Creative Time Store to one LUCKY commenter each day this week!  All you have to do is leave your comments on each of our blogs, and Emma will announce the winner each morning on her blog!  Good luck!

Also, be sure to stop by Emma's blog to get more inspiration from her and the rest of the design team!
