Birdy Birthday

I had fun making this birthday card with a Cricut cut from the Straight from the Nest cartridge.  I used one of the My Creative Time More Stitched Edges Dies to make the grass.  The sentiment is also by MCT, from the Tweet Me stamp set.  I stamped it onto a die cut made with the Papertrey Ink Double Ended Banner Die.  Some sequins finished off this card!

Piggy Birthday Card

I have another birthday card for a student to share today!  I have fun making these, asking my kids ahead of time what their favorite animals and colors are and then finding the perfect cuts to use with my Cricut or Cameo.  For today's card, I found a pig for Pierce on the Cricut Noah's ABC Animals cartridge and a party hat on the Straight From the Nest cartridge.  For the background, I die cut a piece of white cardstock using one of the My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies and cut it in half with one of the MCT More Stitched Edges Dies. I then inked up the two parts using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in the colors listed below.  I also spritzed the pieces with the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to give them that distressed look.  The sentiment is from Papertrey Ink's Birthday Bash Sentiments stamp set.

MCT Thrifty Thursday

It's Thrifty Thursday with My Creative Time!  This is the day we pull out our scrap drawers and see what we can put together!  I made this card for another long-term sub at our school who got hired for next year.  She is super excited for her first teaching position!

Last weekend Provocraft offered free use of the new Cricut When I was a Kid cartridge in the Cricut Craft Room.  There are some really fun cuts on this cartridge; I may have to purchase it!  I cut this cute frame at 2.7", and the adorable little bird is cut at 2.2" from the Straight From the Nest cartridge.

This speech bubble is also from When I Was a Kid.  I cut it at 1.75", the perfect size for my fun sentiment from My Creative Time's It's All About You.

Finally, I had found a long strip of this striped paper in my scraps that tied together the colors of the others scraps I used.  I wanted to make a banner with it, but the piece wasn't big enough to use the MCT Teeny Tag dies full size.  So, I just die cut them half the size and stitched them together with my sewing machine.

Be sure to stop by My Creative Time to see what Emma and the rest of the design team have put together for you with their scraps!

Floral Fun!

This card was inspired by the blossoms on the plum trees that are in our area.  I love the soft pink with the scarlet color in the center!  To make this card, I started by cutting a branch and leaves from the Cricut Straight From the Nest cartridge, at 2 1/2".  I ran the leaves through my Vagabond with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.

My flowers were made with the Papertrey Ink Notched Flower Dies and stamped with PTI's Funky Florals stamp set.  I popped a couple of them up with dimensional adhesive.

The pretty background paper that I used is from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy:  Girl 6 x 6 pack, which you can find at Liz's Paper Loft Boutique.  I'm loving the patterns in the two Bundle of Joy packs; they aren't just for baby!  This beautiful sentiment is from My Creative Time's More of My Favorite Sayings stamp set.

Baby Girl Card

One of my friends just had her third baby!  I found this cute card base to make for her in the Silhouette online store.  The cut is just what I made with the kraft paper, but I cut it again with the letters blacked out to get an inside layer.

To decorate the front, I cut out three onesies at 6" from the Cricut Straight From the Nest cartridge.  I know, they don't look 6" tall, but they come from a cut that includes a clothesline.  The banner string is from Papertrey Ink's Banner Builder stamp set.

Here's a close up of the cute "block" letters.  Aren't they adorable?

I trimmed down the inside layer a bit before adhering it down.  I didn't want it on the fold of the card; that would make the card too difficult to close.  On the inside I stamped one of my favorite baby sentiments from My Creative Time's All Star Baby stamp set!
