Coffee Swing Gift Card Holder

It's Inspiration Wednesday with My Creative Time!  The colors on my card today were inspired by the Starbucks gift card that is tucked away inside!

I wanted to use my favorite coffee cup die from My Creative Time's Coffee Break stamp and die set, but it didn't fit using the MCT Surprise Pop-Out Card Die in the traditional horizontal way, so I tried using it vertically.   It worked out just fine!  I cut the card base with the Pop-Out Die with rustic cream cardstock and stamped the top portion with a stamp from MCT's Coffee Background Stamp Set.

I then covered the inside rectangle with a piece of polka-dotted paper from the Simple Stories SN@P Color Vibe collection and added some leaves cut with the new MCT Pretty Flowers & Leaves Dies.  I  die-cut the coffee cup out of kraft cardstock and stamped the coordinating stamp.  I then stamped the cup also on cream cardstock and green patterned paper so that I could paper piece the cup together.  I added a kraft coffee sleeve stamped with the cutest little caution stamp from the Coffee Break set!

The sentiment is from MCT's More Gift Card Sentiments, and I stamped a few coffee beans from You Are Perk-fect!

Here's a look at the inside.  When that center panel swings around, it reveals the other side, which has a pocket made with the MCT Tag Gift Pocket Die, holding the gift card!

Watercolor Splats

I loved the tutorial Nichole Heady did for Papertrey Ink's Make it Monday this past week, so I had to give it a try myself.  I used sponge daubers to get stripes of raspberry fizz, berry sorbet, orange zest, and summer sunrise ink on white cardststock, and then used a paintbrush to get the "splotches" of water on it.  Once it dried, I ran it through my Vagabond with the Wonderful Words:  Birthday Die and then cut the word again out of black cardstock and nestled it back into the opening.  The "HAPPPY" stamp is from Stylish Sentiments:  Birthday.  The resulting card is 3" x 4".

MCT 31st Edition Release Blog Hop!

It's the My Creative Time April Release Blog Hop!  I hope you arrived here from Emma's blog!  If not, be sure to head back there, so you don't miss a bit of the fun!  There are so many wonderful new stamp and die sets being released this month!  For today's hop, I'm showcasing Main Street and Wishing You Were Here.

I live just outside of San Francisco, so as soon as I got my hands on the Main Street stamp set, I knew I wanted to use it to make a row of San Francisco style colorful buildings.  I cut a piece of white cardstock at 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" and stamped the street from Main Street twice, to make it long enough to extend across the card.  I estimated where the lamppost would end up being and made my seam there, so the lamppost could cover it up.  Then I used post-it notes to mask the top of the street while I stamped each of the colorful buildings.  I love how there are even window stamps, so I could stamp them in different colors!  After that I cut a strip of lime cardstock for the bottom half of the card, to mimic grass.  The sweet sentiment is from Wishing You Were Here.

Wishing You Were Here has the cutest dies!  That's where I got this elegant bench and lamppost.  Of course, the coordinating bench stamps are from this set, as is the cool tiling stamp beneath it.  The adorable puppy was made with an older die, Classy Girl & Furbaby.

Here's a look at these two new sets that I used today, available now in the My Creative Time Store!
