MCT 31st Edition Release Blog Hop!

It's the My Creative Time April Release Blog Hop!  I hope you arrived here from Emma's blog!  If not, be sure to head back there, so you don't miss a bit of the fun!  There are so many wonderful new stamp and die sets being released this month!  For today's hop, I'm showcasing Main Street and Wishing You Were Here.

I live just outside of San Francisco, so as soon as I got my hands on the Main Street stamp set, I knew I wanted to use it to make a row of San Francisco style colorful buildings.  I cut a piece of white cardstock at 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" and stamped the street from Main Street twice, to make it long enough to extend across the card.  I estimated where the lamppost would end up being and made my seam there, so the lamppost could cover it up.  Then I used post-it notes to mask the top of the street while I stamped each of the colorful buildings.  I love how there are even window stamps, so I could stamp them in different colors!  After that I cut a strip of lime cardstock for the bottom half of the card, to mimic grass.  The sweet sentiment is from Wishing You Were Here.

Wishing You Were Here has the cutest dies!  That's where I got this elegant bench and lamppost.  Of course, the coordinating bench stamps are from this set, as is the cool tiling stamp beneath it.  The adorable puppy was made with an older die, Classy Girl & Furbaby.

Here's a look at these two new sets that I used today, available now in the My Creative Time Store!

I have a book called "Painted Ladies" which is about all the brightly colored victorian houses in San Fran. When I saw the Main Street set I thought it would be fun to stamp with bright colors.
