Pop-Up Train Birthday Card

I love making birthday cards for kids! There are so many cute Cricut cuts to use! This card is for my nephew, who just turned two. I realized after I put it together that my cake has three candles on it - oops!

My train is cut at 3" from Create a Critter. The cut contains the engine and the flat car, so I cut it twice to get two flat cars, using my Gypsy to hide the engine on the second cut. I cut the "2" from Nate's ABCs at 1". The snake is cut at 2 1/2" from Create a Critter.

The present is cut at 2" from Create a Critter.

I used Everyday Pop-Up Cards to cut my cake at 2 1/4".

To make my banner, I die cut it with my Papertrey Ink Double-Ended Banner die, but then trimmed it to make it fit my sentiment. I stamped it with a polka-dot background and sentiment from the Ribbon Tails stamp set, added an eyelet and some twine, and used glue dots to adhere it to my card.

I thought my nephew would love a pop-up train inside his card, so I tried out one from the Pop-Up Neighborhood cartridge. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they layers match up perfectly on this cartridge (not the case for the pop-ups on the Everyday Pop-Up cartridge). I cut everything at 2".

Here's a bird's eye view to see how the pop-up adheres to the card.
