I'm not usually into the messier side of crafting, but for some reason I had the urge to try using glitter the other day. It actually wasn't as messy as I feared, and I love the results! This is an A2 sized card, and my image is cut from the Cricut Sophie cartridge at 3 1/2". To glitter my bird, I covered it with my Zig 2 Way glue and some Martha Stewart glitter.
For my sentiment strip, I put 1/8" Scor-Tape on the top and the bottom of the front and the back of a 3/4" x 4 1/2" strip of vellum. After adhering the strip to my card, I sprinkled glitter on top of the Scor-Tape on the front of the strip. My next step didn't work out so well. I stamped my sentiment directly on the vellum, but apparently I did not use the right kind of ink, and it smeared. I was bummed, but there was no way I was giving up now, after all of my work. So I just cut a strip of turquoise paper that matched my bird, stamped my sentiment on there, and adhered it down the center of the vellum strip. I actually think I like this look better! The final touch was a button that I made with Smokey Shadow cardstock and my Papertrey Ink Button Die. I covered it with Gossy Accents to give it a more realistic look.
