It's Your Birthday!

My niece is turning eight, and this is the card that I made for her birthday.  I used the Just a Note cartridge that is built into the Cricut Expression 2 Anniversary Edition.  The card is cut at 5 1/2", so it fits into an A2 size envelope.  I used Bo-Bunny paper for the card base.

The phrase is also cut at 5 1/2".  To add a little interest, I made a cute button with the Papertrey Ink Buttoned Up #2 die and tied it with some twine.

The interesting thing about the rabbit cut is that it's too big when cut at 5 1/2".  I had to cut it at 5" instead.  To make it's hat and balloon stand out a little more, I stamped them with backgrounds from the My Creative Time Build a Banner Kit.

I cut the card base again in rustic cream cardstock, this time at 5 1/4".  This allowed me to trim it down to add a center panel.  The sweet sentiment is from My Creative Time's Wow!  So Many Candles stamp set.

Here's how it looks all closed up.  I think she'll like it!

  7. This is so so pretty Katie! It's funny I had just pulled this handbook out to decide which card to make. Did you cut the bunny itself, or the card layer? Thanks for all the tips :O)
