MCT Designer Challenge

My Creative Time designer Stacey has a fun new challenge for us today:  make a project using no patterned paper!  It's okay to create your own using some MCT stamps, but no store bought paper is allowed for this challenge.  This was actually quite fun!  I started with a cream card base, and then added a canyon clay layer that I edged with one of the Fun Stitched Edges Dies on one side.  I adhered this layer to the left side of my card base.  Then I took another cream layer and did a little bit of inking with some Tim Holtz Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and the Heidi Swapp Polka Dot 6x6 Stencil.  Before adhering this to the card, I used the Stitched Chevy Dies to die cut three chevron shapes out of this layer.

Next I die-cut three more chevron shapes, but this time out of colored cardstock.  I stamped each with coordinating inks, using patterns from Build a Banner Kit and Coffee Break, and then adhered them into the openings in the cream base.

Finally, I added a cute vintage typewriter made with the Typewriter Die and the Once Upon a Time Stamp Set.

Be sure to stop by Emma's blog to see what she and the rest of the design team have created for Stacey's challenge!

  6. I like how the chevy cuts point to the sentiment on the sweet typewriter. The pointy edge accents the chevy and the dots add softness. A very attractive card. Fabulous job!
