MCT Try Me Tuesday


It's Try Me Tuesday with My Creative Time, and today we are making cards using dies to make our card bases! I used one of the tags from Tag Dies for my base by folding my white cardstock in half and placing the fold beneath where the hole in the tag cuts out.  Doesn't it make a cute card base?  Then I tried something new:  embossing paste!  I rubbed some Hero Arts Butter Bar ink onto my kraft mat and stirred in a little Wendy Vecchi White Embossing Paste.  Then I used the Heidi Swapp Polka Dot 6x6 Stencil to get the fun yellow polka dots onto the card base.

To get the fun chipboard effect with the balloons, I used the Stitched Party Dies and cut the balloons from Papertrey Ink coasters and then layered another layer from Echo Park's Splendid Sunshine 6x6 paper pad.  Some Glossy Accents adhered the hemp "strings" to the balloons.  The sentiment, from Vintage Sentiments is stamped on a die cut made with one of the Vintage Stitched Label Dies.

    Super cute card gosh you sure came up with so many creative and clever ideas for this one I love it all.
    Your balloons are so fun with all the bright colors and I do love your idea for the polka dot background.
    As always Katie you sure outdid yourself and love how you used all of Miss Emma's goodies.

    Oh Katie ~ I just LOVE this card! I LOVE that tag and seriously have to try this! Then the details ~ ADORE them too! Okay you know how PROUD I am of you for using paste ~ you and paste!! LOL! I know glitter is a stretch but I know you can do that next! LOL! BEAUTIFUL creation as always!

    This turned out SO cute! I love making cards out of Emma's dies. This one is ADORABLE. And you used Embossing paste. I thought Emma tried to talk you out of it since it is messy to work with ;). I'm glad you used it, it looks so cool. Especially colored yellow. I love the chipboard style balloons too! Hugs- Glora

    That Butter Bar ink colored up the embossing paste nicely. The tag die makes a great shaped card and with the balloons and Birthday Wishes your card is beautiful. Super job!

    This is so super fun Katie! I love the tag shape as the card base!!
    Those polka dots are so fun and the chipboard looking balloons add such great dimension!
