Welcome to the My Creative Time 49th Edition Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from the very talented Jessica. If you just happened upon here, you might want to head over to Emma's blog, to the beginning of the hop. This is a very fun release, and I hope you are as excited about it as we are!
One of my third grade students celebrated her birthday this week, and I had lots of fun using three of the new sets from this release, in addition to several existing MCT sets, to pull together this card. I started by making a 3 1/2" card base. I then took the frame die from the new Be Your Best Selfie set, and cut it once in dark gray, and once in white. I took the center portion of the white and stamped the new Stripey Background stamp on it with pink ink. For the sentiment, I took "birthday wishes" from Sweet Wishes and "Mixed just for you" from Mixed Just for You, which is where I also got my adorable mixer. I stamped that with watercolor paper and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens before cutting it out with the coordinating die.
Now to the fun inside! I took a piece of thinner pink cardstock (it might be Recollections brand from Michael's) and cut it at 3 1/4" x 7 1/4". After scoring it in the center, I lined up one of the new Stitched Pop Up Pieces Dies, and there I had the perfect little pop up piece for my cupcake, which I made with a stamp and die from Light the Candles. How fun is that? Such a fun surprise for my little third grader!
Here's a closer look at the Stitched Pop Up Pieces Dies, Stripey Background, and the Be Your Best Selfie sets. They are available for preorder now in the My Creative Time Store!
Our "Freebie" for this release is this adorable "Hi Sweetie" stamp and die. It will be given to the FIRST 150 shoppers! If you are one of the first 150 shoppers, it will be automatically added to your package at the time of packaging/shipping. Once the first 150 shoppers come through, the set will be available for purchase. So if it's for sale in the store, you are not one of the 150. No exceptions will be made. This freebie set is not a part of the "bundle" and will be sold separately!
