Plaid Birthday Card

I finally broke down and purchased Papertrey Ink's Background Basics Super Stripes stamp set so that I could make some beautiful plaid backgrounds.  It took some time to make this one, but I think the result was worth it!  I used the stamps with Hero Arts inks in Red Royal, Raspberry Jam, Charcoal, and Soft Granite.  To make the wider pink stripe, I masked off an area with post-it tape, and inked it up with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Victorian Velvet.  Once the piece was complete, I trimmed it using a My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular Frame Die and mounted it to my card base.  I then used one of the MCT Stitched Oval Dies  to make a frame for my sentiment, which is from PTI's Birthday Bash Sentiments.  A few Pretty Pink Posh sequins finished it off!

  1. Wonderful job on your plaid! The wide solids really show off the thin stripes. Love this!
