Welding with Cricut Design Space - VIDEO!

It's been almost a year, but I FINALLY made another video!  Last week I made a card in which I'd welded some borders from Cricut's Elegant Edges to a rectangle to create my card base in Cricut Design Space, and I had some questions on how I did that.  I made a video showing how with this card.

I used one of My Creative Time's Stitched Rectangular Frame Dies for my cream layer (I also show in the video how to make the rectangle not as tall, so as to fit my card), and a sentiment from MCT's All You Need is Coffee.  The cute teacup is from Cricut's Love You a Latte cartridge.  Oh, and the patterned paper I used is from a really old My Mind's Eye pack, Life of the Party (one of my favorites).

Believe in the Magic of Christmas!

One of the fun things about the Cricut Explore is that when you first get started with it, you are given a two week subscription to the cartridge library!  Well, I had to take advantage of that!  I found these sweet little snowmen from the Snow Folks cartridge and just had to cut them out.  But first, I thought it would be fun to give my card a pretty shape, so I found a border from Elegant Edges and welded it to a rectangle to make my card base.  Then I cut my blue background layer with one of the My Creative Time Stitched Rectangular Dies and heat embossed some little snowflake stamps from MCT's Winter Cheer stamp set.  I made the little snow drift with MCT's Fun Stitched Edges Dies.

The snowmen cut comes with a snowflake, but I like this one from MCT's Winter Flake Dies better, so I used it instead.  I cut the snowmen's outfits with patterned papers from Simple Stories' December Documented collection.

I thought this sentiment, from MCT's Boughs of Holly, was just perfect to go along with this card!

Guest Designing at BBTB2!

Today I'm guest designing at Bitten By the Bug 2!  They have a new challenge beginning today to make a project using a ladybug from any Cricut cartridge!

I thought it would be fun to make a little box of 3 x 3 notecards.  I found an adorable pizza box on the Cricut Tags, Bags, Boxes & More 2 cartridge and cut it at 5.5".  To decorate it, I used my Elegant Edges cartridge to add a couple of layers.  I adjusted the sizes of them on my Gypsy to 3.25" x 3.33" for the black layer and 2.93" x 3" for the patterned paper layer (from the Simple Stories I {HEART} SUMMER collection).  The sweet little ladybug, from Just Because Cards, is cut at 6.25".  I then added a little brad from I {HEART} SUMMER and a sentiment from My Creative Time's Chunky Jar Accessories, stamped on a die from MCT's Chocolate Greetings.

Inside the box are several little 3 x 3 notecards and envelopes.  I used more of the paper from I {HEART} SUMMER and did a little machine stitching to make a border.  Then I added the same ladybug that is on the outside of the box, but this time it was cut at 5.75".

Each little notecard has a different sentiment from MCT's Small Talk stamp set.  This will be a fun little end of the school year gift for one of my coworkers.

Mommy to Be

Happy Monday!  I have a post that I'm sharing over at My Creative Time today.  A friend of mine is expecting her first baby in June, and I've been meaning to make a card for her.  She knows she's having a boy, so I used patterned paper from Echo Park's Bundle of Joy:  Boy, which you can find at Liz's Paper Loft Boutique!  I took a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of patterned paper and adhered it to the front of a white card base.  The scalloped kraft piece was leftover from another project I did.  It came from the Cricut Elegant Edges cartridge, and I stamped it with a background stamp from My Creative Time's Spring Chicken Backgrounds.  Then I added a strip of patterned paper cut with my ekSuccess Zig Zag Punch to the bottom.

This cute pregnant lady is cut from the Cricut New Arrival cartridge at 4 1/2".  I added a little flower to her hat with Papertrey Ink's Man & Wife Dies, along with a couple of Imaginisce i-Rock gems.

My sentiments are from MCT's Chocolate Greetings, stamped on banners made with the die included in this set.
