Valentine Candy Card

It's Imagine Nation Monday over at My Creative Time, and Emma challenged us today to make a sweet/Valentine project. When I saw this candy jar on the Yummy Imagine cartridge, I thought it would be a perfect match with some hearts stamped with sentiments from Emma's "You Had Me At Chocolate" stamp set. Aren't these the perfect sentiments for candy hearts?

My pink card base is cut at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2", scored at 4 1/4". The green layer is 5 1/4" x 4". For the patterned layer, I flood filled the square stock image on the Imagine with a Yummy pattern, and cut it at 5.2". I then trimmed it down to 5" x 3 3/4".

The candy jar was cut at 4.8". I first separated it into layers and only cut the blue part. I then went back and chose the inside of the candy dish, which was white with candy inside of it. By selecting "cut only" and increasing the size to 5", I was able to cut a layer on a transparency that looks like glass.

Lastly I selected five of the hearts from the Imagine stock images and flood filled them with color from Yummy (except for the yellow, which came from the color wheel).

  3. Wow Katie, you stole my idea, LOL. No, but seriously I was going to use those same sentiments on some conversation hearts. I still might do the card I was planning, but I don't think it will turn out this cute. We really do think alike! AMAZING job!!! I LOVE it!
