MCT Twelve Days of Christmas - Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of the My Creative Time 12 Days of Christmas!  You are in for a fun twelve days of cards, gifts, treats, layouts, and home decor inspiration!  Today I am showcasing a fun card that I made for my brother's family.  It's an A7 size card, which is 5" x 7 1/8".  I used my Gypsy to make a rectangle the size of the card and was then able to size a Christmas tree from the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge that would fit in the corner.  I ran the tree through my Vagabond with the Cuttlebug Holly embossing folder.

My niece was born in the year of the monkey, so I knew she would love this cute monkey cut from the Cricut Create a Critter 2 cartridge.  In the original cut, he is hanging from a vine, but I made my own holly branch using a holly leaf from Silhouette Studio.  I ran the leaves through the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  Then, instead of using the heart that is part of the monkey cut, I have him helping to decorate the tree with an ornament cut with a die from My Creative Time's Warm Holiday Fun.  I used more of these ornament dies to decorate the tree.  Sizing the monkey at 3.88" made him the perfect size to hold the ornament.

This fun sentiment is from MCT's It's a Magical Season stamp set.
